For more information about Herff Jones, please visit www.herffjones.com. \nYour Opportunity: \nThis position includes responsibility for the accurate recording and reporting of financial information for the Warwick Jewelry manufacturing facility. This also includes the responsibility of preparing and/or reviewing input to generate financial statements, journal entries, physical inventory compilations and reconciliations, and the publication of schedules necessitated to help management facilitate operational decisions. \n\n What You’ll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:\nMaintain accurate gold control records to properly record gold costs in the financial statements and to control gold within the plants, to and from refiners, and on consignment to outsourced locations\nMaintain monthly gold and silver perpetual inventories from shipping and receiving records.\nMaintain accurate records of company owned refining assets insuring accuracy of settlements and procurement of independent assay verifications.\nCo-ordinate representation of Herff Jones refining lots at refiners.\nMonitor and coordinate the quarterly precious metal physical inventories. Oversee stone cycle counts for necessary inventory adjustments to the BS.\nReconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, maintain BS reconciliations monthly for all Jewelry BS accounts on both units 1003.\nPrepare all monthly journal entries required to properly report operating results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.\nGenerate all monthly financial reports from within the PeopleSoft Accounting system and publish monthly to all appropriate parties. \nEnsure that all commission adjustments are properly made at plant level and batched through Corporate Headquarters promptly.\nPrepare operational budgets and forecasts for review with Plant Manager, Division Controller, and Divisional Operations Manager.\nWork with Divisional Controller to establish a monthly rolling forecast tool to be submitted to Corporate and Divisional Management personnel.\nAssist the sales force in answering to all financial related questions concerning their offices.\nMonitor Division and Corporate policies to ensure maximum financial control of company resources.\nPrepare required monthly, quarterly, and special reports/analyses for management as necessary.\nEnsure that employee performance review process is completed and paperwork is returned in a timely manner.\nProvide whatever financial assistance or analysis is required by the Plant Manager to enable the plant to improve its efficiency and profitability. Search continually for areas of potential improvements.\nCoordinate and ensure that all weekly/monthly production reports are prepared on a timely and accurate basis.\nReview all accounting systems for written procedure deficiencies to promote operational efficiencies and encourage adherence to prescribed managerial policies.\nProvide assistance to the Division Controller and have direct communication interface with Headquarters.\nWork with IT to establish automated reporting tools to assist Management in making operational decisions\nAdminister all accounting functions and the Office Automation System.\nFamiliarization of all current ERP applications including but not exclusive to Oracle, JMAS, JOE, and PeopleSoft.\nKnow all hazardous materials used in the area and the appropriate action to be taken in the event of exposure.\nEnsure that all personnel policies and practices are uniformly applied.\nPerform all other miscellaneous duties as assigned.\n\n What You’ll Bring to the Table: \nEnsuring that all invoicing, billing and credits are performed in a timely manner.\nEstablish management reporting tools to aid in decision making processes.\nAccurate recording of precious metals to maintain an acceptable shrinkage rate.\nMaintain proper financial record retention in accordance with Headquarters established policies.\nProper cross-training of all subordinates.\n\n Education / Certifications Required:\nCollege degree with Accounting major; BS or BA required.\nCPA desired, but not required.\nMBA desired, but not required.\nManagement courses necessary.\nData Processing courses essential.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nDaily activity includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.\nReading, communication, math.\nWorking at a computer for extended periods of time.\nAbility to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.\nHerff Jones, Inc. and its affiliates are equal opportunity employers and maintain affirmative action plans to recruit, retain, develop, and promote qualified individuals without unlawful consideration of race, gender, gender identity, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, citizenship status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
