A love for children and the ability to work effectively with individual children as well as small and large groups must be present. A cheerful, kind, nurturing spirit with the ability to exercise sound judgment is essential. A team player who is flexible and proactive is needed.\nEDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: HS diploma or equivalent, and experience working with children are required.\nESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nTime management\nAbility to work with children and adults\nClear verbal communication skills\nExcellent work ethic\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: \nArrive on time in order to set up for the day’s activities\nFollow set procedures to check in and check out children\nFollow procedures to monitor students in the hallway, playground, gymnasium, or other facilities\nBe vigilant in watching for safety issues\nActively use the walkie-talkie provided to alert other workers to any issues and respond to calls for students when parents arrive\nBuild relationships with students\nFacilitate games and activities indoors and outdoors as required\nAid in daily cleanup\nRespond appropriately to parents\nThe above description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not restrict the administration’s right to assign or reassign other reasonable duties, responsibilities, or expectations to this job at any time, with or without advance notice. Additional duties are performed by the individual currently holding this position and additional duties may be assigned.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include remaining stationary for extended periods of time; moving up to 25 pounds; navigating the classroom or Eagle Care setting; observing and monitoring student behavior; communicating and exchanging information; and positioning oneself to assist students.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoors, outdoors, change in temperature/humidity; potential for excessive noise, using computer/monitor screen; may work alone, around, or with others. Some exposure to the elements is to be expected while assisting with student dismissal and recess duties.\nEXEMPT STATUS: Non-exempt, hourly\nWORK SCHEDULE: Follows the academic calendar per the direction of the Eagle Care Director.
