The Assistant Underwriter is to assist the agent in a once and done manner with Ease of Doing Business as the center of each interaction.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nReview and process endorsements, cancellation, reinstatements, broker of record requests, etc., within established guidelines\nUse discretion and critical thinking skills to make decisions and resolve issues within authority level\nAccountable to build and maintain effective relationships with agents and vendors\nEnsure compliance with industry and governmental regulations\nCommunicates with co-workers, management, clients, vendors, and others as needed in a courteous and professional manner\nMaintains the integrity of the company and products offered by complying with federal and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures\nMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned\nEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:\nDescribe specific requirements:\n2-3 years’ experience policy level underwriting and agency service within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry, preferably personal lines property\nStrong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products\nDetail-oriented and exceptionally organized\nCollaborative Partner, ability to contribute to a positive work environment\nResults driven with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.\nAbility to use discretion and independent judgment to resolve issues\nAbility to successfully multi-task\nThis job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
