As a Territory Manager, you will serve as a key connection between the company and its agency partners, helping agencies grow their business while advancing the company's strategic goals.\nNBIC offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, ask your recruiter for a detailed brochure.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nProspect, develop, and grow agency relationships throughout Connecticut through in-person visits, virtual meetings, phone calls, and email.\nDeliver compelling sales presentations to prospective agencies and agency principals.\nAnalyze agency performance, revenue, profitability, and production data to identify opportunities and drive results.\nProvide agency owners with performance insights, business development strategies, and recommendations for profitable growth.\nDevelop territory and state strategies in partnership with management.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and internal stakeholders.\nTrain and educate agents on Heritage's underwriting guidelines, procedures, products, programs, website, and web rater.\nHelp agency partners understand Heritage resources and ensure alignment with company profitability initiatives.\nMonitor market trends and competitive intelligence and recommend strategies to strengthen Heritage's position in Connecticut.\nConduct regular agency visits and maintain accurate documentation of agency relationships and activities.\nManage assigned agencies, including new agency appointments, required documentation, call reports, performance updates, and agency terminations when necessary.\nCommunicate agent feedback, product opportunities, and market needs to appropriate internal teams.\nRepresent Heritage at agency meetings, industry events, trade shows, and conventions.\nParticipate in sales meetings, training programs, and other company initiatives.\nTravel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including frequent overnight travel. Occasional travel to other locations may be required for training, conventions, and company functions.\nMaintain professional and effective communication with colleagues, management, clients, vendors, and agency partners.\nConduct business in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and Heritage policies and procedures.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nKey Competencies\nSales & Business Development - Identifies opportunities, understands market dynamics, builds relationships, and consistently works toward growth objectives.\nResults Driven - Establishes clear goals, takes ownership of outcomes, and uses data and market insights to drive performance.\nRelationship Building - Develops trusted partnerships with agents, agency principals, and internal stakeholders.\nTeamwork & Collaboration - Works effectively across departments and contributes to shared business objectives.\nOrganization & Time Management - Effectively manages a remote work environment, territory activity, travel schedule, priorities, and follow-up.\nQualifications\nMinimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience, including at least 3 years of territory management or related sales experience.\nAssociate or bachelor's degree strongly preferred.\nP&C insurance license, insurance industry designations, and/or prior insurance agency experience required.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and common business technology.\nStrong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.\nDemonstrated ability to manage a territory independently and consistently deliver results.\nWillingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Connecticut and periodically to other company locations.\nThis is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office while maintaining a strong presence throughout the territory through in-person agency visits, meetings, and industry events.
