As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will work closely with our hardware and systems engineers to design, develop, and implement software for our cutting-edge aircraft systems.\nWe are open to considering Software Engineer II or Principal Engineer candidates for this role.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain embedded flight software for our aircraft systems, including flight control, navigation, communication, and avionics systems. \nCollaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components. \nWrite efficient, high-quality, and well-documented code that meets the performance and safety requirements of the aircraft. \nDevelop software requirements and design documents. \nParticipate in code and design reviews to ensure high-quality software. \nTest and debug software to ensure it meets design specifications and performance requirements. \nWork with systems engineers to develop and execute system-level tests and simulations. \nParticipate in the development of safety-critical software and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. \nStay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the embedded flight software field and apply them to our aircraft systems. \nDevelop and maintain technical documentation.\nRequirements:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience in embedded flight software development.\nProfessional experience programming in C/C++ and experience with embedded flight software development tools and methodologies. \nPreferred Skills and Experience:\nExperience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded Linux for real-time applications.\nFamiliarity with low-level hardware interfaces (e.g., CAN, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, etc.), and software development for embedded applications.\nExperience with fault-redundant design as well as safety-critical software development processes, such as DO-178C or MIL-516C.
