Your work will involve creating hardware/physics informed software models and validate results with real data.\nSpring: Around 16 weeks (January - April)\nSummer: Around 12 weeks (May - August)\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop performant simulation code for 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) systems using Julia.\nDevelop user driven features and focus on scalability of our Monte Carlo simulation\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Flight Software, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and Flight Sciences to align simulation outputs with stakeholder requirements.\nDesign and implement physics-informed models that accurately represent hardware behavior and system dynamics.\nValidate simulation accuracy by comparing model outputs with real-world flight data and refining models accordingly.\nOptimize simulation performance to ensure real-time execution and scalability across different test environments.\nParticipate in code reviews and testing cycles to maintain high software quality and reliability.\nDocument modeling assumptions, validation results, and integration workflows for internal knowledge sharing and future development.\nRequirements:\nPursuing a degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.\nProficiency in Julia or strong experience with scientific computing languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.\nUnderstanding of 6DOF dynamics and simulation principles, especially in aerospace or robotics contexts.\nFamiliarity with modeling physical systems, including hardware-in-the-loop or physics-informed simulation techniques.\nExperience with data validation and analysis, including comparing simulation outputs to real-world data.\nStrong understanding of engineering first principles\nDemonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams\nEnthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus' mission\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nGPA of 3.0 or
