We aim to de-bottleneck the growth of electricity generation and consumption with scalable, innovative, and less costly hardware solutions, accelerating the electrification of everything.\nOur first goal is to build better converters (inverters & rectifiers) to connect large-scale renewables, storage, and loads to the grid. Heron’s leadership team is made up of seasoned veterans who have designed and shipped gigawatts of power conversion products over the past decade.\nWe understand that no one individual knows everything. We will all learn a lot together and from each other. We strive to build a collaborative, enriching environment conducive to personal, technical, and career growth. You can expect to work in a dynamic environment, driven by first principles engineering, solving difficult problems-with a strong bias toward hands-on execution and learning by doing.\nJob Overview\nHigh-reliability products are built on high-quality manufacturing and test infrastructure.\nAs an Electrical Engineer - Manufacturing Test, you will help develop the hardware, fixtures, and test solutions that ensure our products can be built, validated, and shipped at scale. Working closely with design engineers, manufacturing partners, and external fixture vendors, you will support the development and deployment of production test systems for PCBAs, subsystems, and integrated products.\nThis role sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, manufacturing, and product development. You will gain hands-on experience developing test fixtures, supporting Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives, troubleshooting hardware issues, and helping bring new products from prototype through production.\nIf you enjoy understanding how products are built, tested, and scaled into manufacturing, this role will feel like home.\nHow You Will Contribute\nTest Strategy & Development\nSupport the development of functional test coverage for PCBAs, subsystems, and production systems.\n\nReview schematics, PCB layouts, and manufacturing documentation to define test requirements and validation plans.\n\nPartner with design engineers to improve Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM), including test points, diagnostics, firmware validation, and observability.\n\nHelp establish pass/fail criteria grounded in product performance, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.\n\nParticipate in engineering validation, production qualification, and end-of-line (EOL) test activities.\n\nTest Hardware & Fixture Development\nDesign, modify, and support electrical test fixtures for PCBA validation and production testing.\n\nCollaborate with external fixture vendors to develop and deploy manufacturing test solutions.\n\nSupport the development of bed-of-nails fixtures, interface boards, harness validation fixtures, and other production test hardware.\n\nSpecify, integrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, DAQs, and communication interfaces.\n\nHelp deliver test stations that are reliable, maintainable, safe, and scalable.\n\nProduction Support & Debug\nSupport board bring-up, hardware validation, and root-cause analysis of electrical issues.\n\nDrive rapid debug loops when tests fail.\n\nImprove test observability and diagnostic resolution.\n\nPartner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to improve yield, reduce escapes, and accelerate learning cycles.\n\nSupport pilot builds, NPI activities, and production ramps.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nGenerate manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and engineering change requests.\n\nSupport fixture maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement efforts.\n\nHelp close the loop between manufacturing, design, and reliability teams.\n\nContribute to improving test coverage, manufacturing efficiency, and product quality over time.\n\nWhat Makes This Role Different\nWork across the full manufacturing test lifecycle: PCBA validation → subsystem testing → end-of-line production.\n\nGain hands-on experience with test fixtures, automated test systems, and manufacturing operations.\n\nCollaborate directly with design engineers, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and fixture vendors.\n\nExposure to real-world DFM, DFT, NPI, and production scaling challenges.\n\nHigh agency and high slope - the systems you help build directly influence product quality, manufacturing readiness, and how quickly we can ship.\n\nWhat You Will Bring\nWe prioritize strong fundamentals, practical problem-solving, ownership, and a willingness to learn. We care as much about how you work as what you already know.\nMust-Have Requirements\nAbility to read and understand electrical schematics and PCB layouts.\n\nFundamental understanding of analog and digital circuits.\n\nFamiliarity with PCBAs and electronic manufacturing processes.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to work cross-functionally and drive issues to closure.\n\nNice-to-Haves\nExperience designing or debugging simple circuits.\n\nExperience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other lab equipment.\n\nExposure to manufacturing test fixtures, production testing, or hardware validation.\n\nExperience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or hardware vendors.\n\nFamiliarity with DFM, DFT, NPI, or PCBA manufacturing processes.\n\nExperience with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar.\n\nIf you are passionate about technology and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Join us in accelerating the electrification of everything at Heron Power. Heron Power provides competitive compensation (salary and equity) and benefits. The salary for this role ranges from $130,000 to $155,000 per year.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5876,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Energy & Utilities"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-06-11T20:23:21Z"},{"event":"close","at":"2026-09-04T01:24:19Z"},{"event":"reopen","at":"2026-09-15T02:13:35Z"}],"liveness":{"score":8,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.272,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":111,"expected_fill_days":46,"reasons":["conf:0","stale_co","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":155000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/heronpower-electrical-engineer-manufacturing-test","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/heronpower-electrical-engineer-manufacturing-test.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T09:47:40Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":544,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4456,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
