Operating within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) framework, this role is focused on the internal engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise LAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and managed Wi-Fi solutions.\nKey Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:\nDesign and plan scalable and secure enterprisenetwork environments, including LAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and Wi-Fi\ninfrastructure.\n\nDeploy and configure networking hardware andsoftware across client environments according to design and security best\npractices.\n\nMaintain and support the operational stabilityof enterprise networks, ensuring high availability, performance, and\nresilience.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues acrossLayer 2/3, SD-WAN overlays, and perimeter security infrastructure.\n\nCollaborate with project managers, systemsengineers, and service delivery teams to ensure smooth rollouts and consistent\noperations.\n\nImplement upgrades, patches, and firmwareupdates on network devices.\n\nDocument configurations, designs, and changes inaccordance with internal standards and compliance frameworks.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement of tools,templates, and processes used to deliver and maintain network services.\n\nKey Outputs:\nDeliver and maintain network environments forenterprise customers.\n\nDocument and improve designs.\nEnsure compliance and consistency across enterprise environments.\nThe successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:\n3 to 7 years’ experience in enterprise networkengineering or infrastructure roles.\n\nExpert knowledge of IP networking, routingprotocols (OSPF, BGP), VLANs, QoS, and security principles.\n\nExperience designing and implementing SD-WAN andenterprise Wi-Fi solutions.\n\nFamiliarity with managed services environments,NOC/SOC collaboration, and change control processes.\n\nStrong troubleshooting mindset and attention todetail.\n\nAbility to work independently in a high-availability,multi-client environment.\n\nProactive, structured, and documentation-orientedapproach to network management.\n\nWillingness to engagein after-hours changes and standby/on-call rotation as needed.\n\nEducation Requirements:\nGrade 12\nRelevant certifications a plus (e.g., CCNP, JNCIS, MTCRE, NSE, PCAP, SOPHOS).\nPLEASE NOTE:\nPreference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individual candidates in line with Herotel’s Employment Equity Plan. \nSubmission of your CV provides Herotel with your express consent for us to process your personal information contained therein, for purposes of processing your application.
