Herotel is a South African fibre network operator and internet service provider that connects towns, townships, farms and rural communities that larger carriers overlook. It sells uncapped fibre and fixed wireless internet, prepaid vouchers with no contract or credit check, and voice over IP calling, and builds and maintains its own network from points of presence to customer premises. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Stellenbosch, the company grew by acquiring dozens of small regional operators and employs field sales agents, technicians, contractor coordinators and support staff nationwide.

Are you a people focused, detail driven administrator with a passion for developing others? Join our Learning and Development team as a Learning Administrator in Stellenbosch, where you’ll plan, administer and track skills development, keep our Learning Management System running smoothly and make sure every learning intervention is well documented and accurately reported on.

This role is perfect for an organised, proactive and resilient administration who loves seeing people grow, thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in strong records, sharp reporting and SETA ready submissions.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with learning pathway design and implementation, working closely with HR and the operational teams
  • Support with Training Needs Analysis and consolidate needs into a Training Plan, identifying training needs and trends along the way
  • Coordinate and schedule key national initiatives and project based training activities from start to finish
  • Coordinate and consolidate skills development nominations and registrations
  • Promote skills development across the organisation and make sure employees, trainers and providers follow established guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Administer and support learners on the Learning Management System and related platforms, including compiling and testing learning content and systems
  • Coordinate, monitor and support training interventions and their related resources
  • Quality assure external learning resources and programmes, solving problems and taking corrective action where needed
  • Build the SETA relationship, investigate funding opportunities and keep track of levy payments within the Group
  • Uphold partnership agreements with internal customers and suppliers
  • Create and maintain accurate training records, including registration forms, online attendance registers and feedback and evaluation forms
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on all learning interventions, consolidate programme feedback and suggest improvement plans based on trends
  • Quality assure the monthly training reports and compile the annual training report for the WSP and ATR submissions to the SETA
  • Keep minutes for Learning and Development meetings and maintain a register of procedures, flagging upcoming review dates to the Training Manager and team

What you’ll need:

  • Grade 12
  • A qualification in Education, ETDP, Industrial Psychology, HR or a related field will be considered
  • Additional certificates in Learning and Development, Project Management or Administration will be an advantage
  • At least 3 to 5 years’ working experience as a coordinator, facilitator, skills development facilitator, project manager, programme manager or similar role in a large company
  • Knowledge of SETAs and South African skills development legislation
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems or scheduling systems will be advantageous
  • Experience in a telecommunications or technology company is preferred
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in MS Office and strong Excel skills (Smartsheet would be advantageous)
  • Strong data gathering and analysis skills
  • Excellent administrative, time management and prioritisation skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Good oral and written communication skills and strong customer care
  • Problem solving skills and the resilience to work under pressure and deadlines
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • A genuine passion for people and their development

What we offer:

  • Exposure to a dynamic workplace
  • A chance to grow your skills through our internal academy
  • A friendly, team-driven environment
