This position plays a key role in coordinating delivery schedules for lumber, building materials, millwork, kitchen & bath products, and specialty items under the direction of the Dispatch Manager.\nThe successful candidate will help ensure accurate inventory management, efficient receiving and shipping processes, timely customer deliveries, and exceptional customer service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.\nKey Responsibilities\nInventory Control & Cycle Counting\nManage the Lakeville Yard cycle count process and serve as a resource to other locations as needed.\nConduct inventory counts throughout yard and warehouse areas.\nResearch inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.\nRequest inventory replenishment when necessary.\nMaintain accurate inventory records and control processes.\nSupport yard operations and warehouse activities as assigned.\nReceiving & Inventory Management\nReceive and process all yard merchandise, including stock and special-order items.\nVerify incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation.\nEnter detailed receiving information into the company operating system on the day of receipt.\nInspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendors and shippers.\nProcess jobsite returns, verify quantities and condition of materials, and complete customer credits in Spruce.\nCoordinate vendor returns and inter-company transfers, ensuring accurate documentation and system updates.\nMaintain special-order inventory areas by properly storing, labeling, and communicating receipt of sold items to appropriate departments.\nEnsure receiving, warehouse, and work areas remain organized, safe, and efficient.\nDispatch & Delivery Coordination\nSchedule and coordinate deliveries using the Spruce delivery program.\nMonitor delivery schedules and maintain accurate on-time delivery metrics.\nWork closely with the Dispatch Manager, store management, warehouse teams, and drivers to coordinate deliveries and material flow.\nCommunicate with customers regarding delivery schedules, special requests, and issue resolution.\nInvestigate delayed deliveries and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.\nResolve delivery errors promptly and arrange customer returns within established timelines.\nPerform load checks before deliveries are released to drivers.\nMaintain regular communication with drivers throughout delivery routes.\nCustomer Service & Team Support\nProvide outstanding customer service by addressing delivery concerns and resolving issues efficiently.\nAssist with Yard Sales counter operations as needed.\nSupport warehouse and driver activities as assigned.\nParticipate in required training programs.\nDemonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.\nRecommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nSix months to one year of related experience and/or training preferred.\nEquivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.\nSkills & Abilities\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nEffective communication and customer service skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nBasic computer skills and experience with inventory or dispatch systems preferred.\nAbility to investigate and resolve inventory, receiving, and delivery discrepancies.\nForklift or material handling equipment experience is a plus.\nWhy Join Ed Herrington, Inc.?\nAt EHI, you'll be part of a team-focused organization dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and operational excellence.
