Event Technician (gn)

Task

Support the delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events Operate and manage audio, video, conferencing, and presentation systems Set up, configure, test, and dismantle event spaces and technical equipment Provide technical support to speakers, guests, and event organizers before and during events Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced live event environment Coordinate technical requirements with internal stakeholders and external service providers Support rehearsals, technical run-throughs, and event-day operations Maintain, test, and ensure the readiness of AV and event technology equipment Assist with venue setup, furniture moves, and other operational event support activities Contribute to the continuous improvement of event technology, infrastructure, and service standards

Expectation

Completed vocational training or equivalent professional experience in event technology, media technology, AV systems, or a related field Proven experience supporting live events from a technical perspective Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, streaming, and video conferencing technologies Experience with professional AV platforms such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Dante, Extron, Shure, Biamp, or comparable systems Hands-on approach with the willingness to actively support event operations on site Good technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to balance technical requirements with customer and operational needs Strong service orientation and customer focus Reliable, structured, and self-motivated working style Physical ability to support event setup, equipment handling, and room reconfigurations Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a pragmatic mindset Fluent German and English, both written and spoken Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or limited weekend hours when required by events

To strengthen our Campus Operations Team, we are looking for a committed candidate who will provide technical, organisational and operational support for our events, thereby playing a key role in ensuring a professional event experience. The contract shall commence on 15 January 2027 and is permanent.
