The role works at the intersection of software development, system architecture, and project management to ensure the successful development and deployment of software solutions that address a wide range of challenges and requirements. The role optimizes software systems for enhanced performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to deliver an optimal end-user experience. Responsibilities\nInstalls, configures, and tests and maintains operating systems, application software, and system management tools, with a high degree of expertise and independence.\nMonitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works with developers to implement those fixes.\nDesigns enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.\nAnalyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.\nWrites and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.\nCreates and maintains detailed technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals.\nLeads a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.\nCollaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.\nRepresents the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.\nProvides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members. Education & Experience Recommended\nFour-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\nTypically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
