Open up opportunities with HPE.\nJob Description:\nThe Associate Hardware Product Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product and manufacturing quality across the product lifecycle, from new product introduction through high-volume production and sustaining operations. This role partners closely with internal engineering teams and global contract manufacturing (CM) partners to ensure compliance with quality standards, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements. The engineer will analyze product and process performance, lead root cause and corrective action activities, manage quality escalations, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.\nWorking within an established framework, this individual applies quality engineering principles to identify risks, resolve manufacturing and product quality issues, and implement effective corrective actions. The role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence internal teams and manufacturing partners.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage hardware product quality escalations and drive timely resolution of manufacturing, process, and product quality issues.\nAct as the primary quality liaison between the company and global contract manufacturing partners, ensuring adherence to established quality and manufacturing processes.\nMonitor test, inspection, and production yields to identify trends, emerging issues, and opportunities for quality improvement.\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive action (CAPA/RCCA) activities for product and process failures.\nAnalyze manufacturing, test, and quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements to product designs, test methods, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.\nSupport new product introduction (NPI) activities by integrating quality requirements into product development, manufacturing, and supply chain processes.\nReview product designs, specifications, and manufacturing processes to identify potential quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies.\nCollaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams to resolve quality-related issues.\nDesign, implement, and maintain quality engineering methods, inspection plans, test strategies, and process controls.\nFacilitate continuous improvement activities at manufacturing sites through audits, performance reviews, corrective actions, and quality initiatives.\nSupport Manufacturing Holds, Purges, ECOs, MCOs, Deviations, and other change-management activities to ensure quality and compliance requirements are met.\nParticipate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition processes as required.\nDevelop and present quality performance metrics, corrective action status, and risk assessments to stakeholders and leadership.\nSupport compliance with internal quality systems and external industry standards, including Lean, Six Sigma, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nContribute to strategic Product Quality Engineering initiatives, standardization efforts, and best-practice development across the organization.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.\n2-4 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, product quality, supplier quality, or a related discipline.\nExperience working with electronic assemblies, hardware products, or manufacturing environments.\nUnderstanding of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), CAPA, and structured problem-solving methodologies.\nExperience analyzing manufacturing, quality, and test data to identify trends and drive improvements.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders\nAdvanced English Level.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree in Engineering or a related field.\nLean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.\nExperience supporting global contract manufacturers and supply chain partners.\nExperience with Agile PLM, quality management systems, and manufacturing process controls.\nKnowledge of supplier quality management practices.\nMandarin and/or Spanish language proficiency.\nExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Competencies\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.\nKnowledge of quality engineering tools, methodologies, and industry standards.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes, electronics assembly, hardware products, and component technologies.\nExperience using statistical methods, data analysis tools, and quality metrics to drive decision-making.\nAbility to perform audits and assess manufacturing process effectiveness.\nStrong project management and organizational skills.\nAbility to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.\nExcellent interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively with global teams and manufacturing partners across diverse cultures.\nContinuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nAccessibility\nHPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
