Open up opportunities with HPE.\nJob Description:\nThe Associate Mechanical Value Engineering Engineer is responsible for driving mechanical cost reduction, manufacturability improvements, supplier optimization, and quality enhancements across new and existing products. Working closely with Mechanical Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, and external fabrication partners, this role develops high-value mechanical solutions that improve product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost competitiveness.\nThe engineer supports both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining products by applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Value (DFV) principles across a broad range of mechanical fabrication technologies. The role serves as a key technical interface between engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure robust production processes and continuous product cost reductions throughout the product lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nDrive value engineering initiatives focused on mechanical cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturing efficiency.\nSupport fabrication technologies including sheet metal, machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and mechanical assemblies.\nCollaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs), and fabrication suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce product costs.\nIdentify tooling, material, and process improvement opportunities that improve quality and lower total product cost.\nAnalyze manufacturing, supplier, and field quality data to identify improvement opportunities and corrective actions.\nParticipate in root cause investigations of product, assembly, and process failures and drive closure of corrective actions.\nSupport qualification of new suppliers, manufacturing processes, tooling, and mechanical components.\nSupport supplier audits and manufacturing assessments in partnership with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain organizations.\nCommunicate technical recommendations and business cases supporting cost reduction and manufacturing improvements.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\nTypically 2-5 years of experience in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Value Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience working with mechanical fabrication processes and manufacturing environments.\nUnderstanding of mechanical component design, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing methods.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CAD systems such as SolidWorks or equivalent.\nAdvanced English Level\nKnowledge, Skills, and Competencies\nStrong understanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and fabrication methods.\nAbility to evaluate product designs for cost, manufacturability, quality, and scalability.\nStrong analytical and root cause problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of supplier development, process qualification, and manufacturing validation.\nAbility to analyze yield, quality, and cost data to drive improvement actions.\nEffective communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and supplier organizations.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to cross-functional teams.\nTravel\nUp to 10% domestic and international travel may be required to support manufacturing partners, suppliers, audits, and product launches.\nAccessibility\nHPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
