Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.\nManagement Level Definition:\nContributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.\nWhat You Will Do\nDesigns, develops, enhances, and maintains software components and subsystems related to platform engineering, system software, operating systems, networking, and hardware-software integration.\nWorks on platform-level engineering activities, understanding system architecture, hardware dependencies, and software interactions across different platforms.\nAnalyzes technical requirements and determines coding, programming, integration, and testing activities based on product architecture and design objectives.\nCollaborates with hardware and platform engineering teams to understand hardware compatibility, system-level functionality, and integration requirements.\nPerforms debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex software and platform-related issues.\nDevelops and executes test plans, validation protocols, and automation scripts to ensure reliability, performance, and quality of software and platform components.\nContributes to system integration, performance optimization, and validation across hardware and software environments.\nCollaborates with internal engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to drive technical solutions and resolve engineering challenges.\nMay lead assigned engineering projects, coordinate with development partners, and provide technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.\nWhat you will Bring\nStrong engineering fundamentals with an understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, system-level concepts, and hardware-software interactions.\nExposure to embedded systems, platform engineering, hardware components like - I2C, PCIe, Linux Kernel, Device Driver, FPGA, NVMe, CPU, GPIO, Serdes, Optics, Transceriver etc.\nGood knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Object Oriented Programming.\nUnderstanding of system debugging, troubleshooting, software integration, and validation methodologies.\nFamiliarity with networking concepts, operating systems, Linux/Unix environments, and platform architectures is advantageous.\nStrong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to understand complex technical problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop effective solutions.\nDemonstrates strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to adapt to new technologies.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams.\nEducation and Experience Required:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nTypically 4-8 years of relevant engineering experience.\nExposure to platform engineering, hardware engineering, embedded systems, or system software development is preferred.\nAccessibility\nHPE is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible workplace and encourages applications from all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities.
