We already have some of them live out in the fields, but we want to nail down the autonomy part. We are planning to have hundreds of rovers scouting commercial production facilities soon, and you will be responsible for full-stack autonomy: making and owning key decisions that will make this process more and more reliable. A lot about this role is deliberately in stealth mode, but in short, you will be working with a very small team to achieve something that has been considered very difficult.Your profile\nWe don't expect you to check all the items below, but this is how we will assess your profile:\nDevelop autonomous navigation software for wheeled mobile robots.\nIntegrate LiDAR, RGB/depth cameras, IMUs, wheel odometry, and GPS (where applicable).\nImplement SLAM, localization, obstacle detection, and path planning.\nDesign mission planning software for predefined routes and task execution.\nImprove robustness in challenging greenhouse conditions such as changing lighting, dense foliage, reflective surfaces, and narrow aisles.\nDeploy, test, and tune autonomy algorithms on physical robots.\nBuild tools for map generation, route creation, and mission monitoring.\nCollaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to improve robot performance.\nAnalyze field data and continuously improve navigation reliability.\nNice to have\nExperience with autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs or AMRs).\nKnowledge of machine learning and computer vision.\nExperience integrating with NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge AI platforms.\nFamiliarity with simulation tools such as Gazebo or Isaac Sim.\nNot nice things\nIf you are scared of trying or failing at things because you're doing it for the first time.\nYou don't know basic hardware stuff, like the difference between a BLDC vs a stepper motor, CAN vs UART, or how to use basic tools like a multimeter.\nWhy us?\nThis is probably one of the most exciting and fulfilling roles in Robotics in Europe right now.
