Become a part of the “strength within.”\nHexcel is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.\n The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:\nUtilize Lean Manufacturing Tools to increase productivity. (6S, Visual Workplace, VSM, Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, Mistake Proofing, etc.)\nCreate Value Stream Maps (VSMs) and identify areas of improvement. (8 Wastes)\nWork closely with production, engineering, and quality to identify, create, and implement Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke) devices.\nParticipate as an active member of Kaizen events to rapidly improve processes.\nActively engage in Root Cause Problem Solving teams (RCCA) and execute necessary countermeasures.\nDevelop, maintain and/or improve Visual Workplace tools.\nDraw / revise plant layouts to increase flow and eliminate waste.\nSupport Safety initiatives to increase awareness and reduce risk.\nQualifications:\nField of study: industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or technology related fields.\nPrevious experience in a Lean manufacturing environment a plus.\nSolid verbal and written communication skills are required, PC and AutoCAD / Visio skills preferred.\nCandidate must have ability to work with teams to define problems and solve problems.\nMust have solid organization skills and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. \nEligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
