The position supports Manufacturing and Quality through accurate testing, timely reporting, equipment upkeep, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.\nThis position is a 12-hour rotating shift.\n\nWhat you will do:\nCollect, prepare, identify, and test laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures.\nPerform routine physical and/or chemical testing using approved methods, specifications, and work instructions.\nAccurately record, review, and report laboratory results using applicable logs, forms, and electronic systems.\nCompare test results with specifications and promptly communicate abnormal, questionable, or nonconforming results.\nSupport investigations and troubleshooting related to manufacturing processes, materials, and product quality.\nOperate, clean, inspect, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and measuring equipment as assigned.\nMaintain laboratory records, retained samples, standards, reagents, solutions, and supplies.\nFollow laboratory SOPs, quality-system requirements, safe-work practices, and applicable environmental requirements.\nCommunicate testing status and results effectively with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other stakeholders.\nParticipate in continuous-improvement efforts involving test methods, workflow, data quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.\nMaintain orderly, clean, and audit-ready laboratory work areas.\nAssist with procedure revisions, method updates, training, and other laboratory activities as assigned.\nWork is performed in a manufacturing laboratory and may require standing for extended periods, handling samples and laboratory materials, wearing required personal protective equipment, and working near manufacturing operations. \nQualifications:\nThree years of lab/manufacturing experience required.\nHigh School diploma required. \nAssociate degree in chemistry, chemical technology, materials science, engineering technology, or a related technical field is preferred.\nRelevant manufacturing, quality, or laboratory experience may be considered in place of formal education.\nPrevious experience in an industrial or manufacturing laboratory is preferred. \nWith our strong investment in research and development and our culture of continuous improvement, Hexcel is the industry leader in the manufacturing of advanced lightweight composite materials, including carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs and engineered core and composite structures.
