Become a part of the “strength within.”\nHexcel is currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.\nThe selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:\nUnder the direction of the Project Manager, scope and estimate capital projects, author capital expenditure requests, identify required resources, and coordinate between all effected parties.\nDevelop proposals or RFQ’s for the purposes of scoping or estimating capital investments; work with vendors and/or contractors to optimize system performance; negotiate with prospective suppliers of equipment and services.\nWork with cross-functional teams to accurately define the scopes of projects and coordinate with the local technical team to ensure key project and site objectives are met.\nProvide advice on the development of technical specifications. Ensure equipment conforms to local specifications and availability, interfacing with the chosen equipment supplier.\nManage the procurement process for capital expenditure projects.\nPrepare and maintain engineering drawings, including engineering and process flow diagrams, assembly drawings, and detailed design drawings.\nManage daily on-site contractor activity, including coordinating work, running safety meetings, and providing permits as needed.\nLend support to the planning and executing of commissioning, startup, and qualifications.\nEnsure safe working practices are carried out to comply with site standards on health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nCommunicate project status with senior employees and project stakeholders; develop and deliver formal presentations to management as necessary.\nQualifications:\nB.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area\nExperience in managing projects and fulfilling responsibilities associated with project engineering teams\nProven team leadership skills; experience of working within and leading multi-disciplinary team\nOral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities\nAbility to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines\nKnowledge and experience with basic process drawing layouts with emphasis on P&ID’s and PFD’s\nExperience with monitoring/meeting monthly spending targets (preferred)\n Qualified candidates must be either US Persons or US Citizens\nEligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
