Become a part of the “strength within.”\nHexcel is currently seeking a Project Manager II - Electrical, Controls, and Automation for our Decatur, AL or Salt Lake City, UT, location.\nThe selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:\nLead electrical, controls, and automation capital projects from concept through commissioning and startup across multiple manufacturing sites.\nManage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and stakeholder communications for projects up to $50 million.\nDevelop capital expenditure requests, technical specifications, and equipment procurement strategies.\nCoordinate activities between manufacturing sites, engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and OEM partners.\nReview and maintain electrical, controls, instrumentation, process flow, and utility system drawings.\nSupport automation upgrades, equipment installations, infrastructure improvements, and facility expansions.\nTroubleshoot industrial control systems and recommend solutions to improve reliability and performance.\nConduct safety and risk assessments while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to site personnel, engineers, and project teams.\nDrive standardization and implementation of best practices across multiple manufacturing locations.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, controls, automation engineering, or other related engineering discipline; or a minimum of 10 years of experience leading complex projects in these areas.\nIn-depth understanding of process control techniques and industry standards within industrial manufacturing settings.\nStrong understanding of industrial automation, controls technologies, process control systems, and manufacturing operations.\nExperience leading capital projects and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nAbility to read, develop, and interpret electrical, controls, instrumentation, PFD, P&ID, and related engineering drawings.\nDemonstrated experience with industrial control systems and equipment integration.\nStrong communication, organizational, project management, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to travel domestically and internationally based on project requirements - estimated 25% travel.\nExperience with HAZOP, FMEA, or other safety and risk assessment methodologies preferred.\nExperience with medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, power distribution infrastructure, Six Sigma methodologies, or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus.\nBasic knowledge or advanced visions systems or large language models (AI Models).\nAbility to travel to other US Hexcel facilities - estimated 25% travel.\nEligible candidates will be a US Person.\nEligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
