Become a part of the “strength within.”\nHexcel is currently seeking a Project Manager M/F . The position could be based in Dagneux (close to Lyon) or in Les Avenières (close to Chambéry), France.\nServe as the primary leader and internal consultant for major capital projects in France and Germany, with potential to support additional projects across the European region. This role will lead the full project lifecycle-from concept through implementation and hand-off-while driving improvements in site processes, equipment, and infrastructure. The role is responsible for managing the capital budgets and associated systems, while providing technical expertise, stakeholder alignment, and project oversight to ensure safe, timely, and on-budget delivery. Must be able to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization and solve complex problems efficiently, in a team-based environment.\nKey Responsibilities and Activities:\nManage capital projects (up to $50M), which would include, but not be limited to, scoping and estimating the projects, authoring capital expenditure requests for the same, leading multi-functional project teams, providing cost and schedule control, identifying required resources, and coordinating between all affected parties.\nWork with site personnel to efficiently and effectively execute projects with minimal impact to existing operations.\nCommunicate project status with senior employees and project stakeholders; develop and deliver formal presentations to management as necessary.\nDevelop proposals or RFQ’s for the purposes of scoping or estimating capital investments; work with vendors and/or contractors to optimize system performance.\nManage the procurement process for capital expenditure projects, including interface and negotiations with suppliers of equipment and services.\nDevelop technical specifications in coordination with local site teams, ensuring that equipment conforms to local specifications and availability.\nOversight and management of Engineering drawings, including Engineering and Process Flow Diagrams, Assembly Drawings, and Detailed Design Drawings.\nEvaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.\nProvide oversight for commissioning and startup of new or modified equipment\nEnsure safe working practices are carried out to comply with site standards on health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nQualifications & Experience:\nUniversity or Engineer degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area\nDemonstrated ability to manage projects and fulfill responsibilities associated with project engineering teams in continuous, high-paced environments\nExperience in industrial manufacturing facilities - Experience in developing and reading of mechanical design drawings\nKnowledge of a range of engineering disciplines (instrumentation, electrical, civil, mechanical, and chemical)\nDemonstrated ability to both work within and lead multi-disciplinary teams and to perform safety analysis, especially HAZOP or FEMA\nOral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities\nAbility to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines - Ability to command the personal respect and confidence of colleagues and customers for technical capability\nMust speak English proficiently\nTravel will vary significantly based upon the project assignments and the stage of execution, up to 30%.\nHexcel, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, is a global leader in advanced composite materials technology, a major player in carbon fiber production, and the world leader in honeycomb manufacturing for the aerospace industry.\nHexcel is committed to promoting equal opportunity and inclusion.
