Become a part of the “strength within.”\nHexcel is currently seeking a Shift Engineer for our Duxford, UK location.\nThe selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:\nSupport maintenance activities across the site to improve plant performance and reliability. \nCarry out fault finding, repairs and implement root cause corrective actions. \nDevelop, execute and maintain planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules. \nSupport projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance safety and production efficiency. \nRespond to mechanical and electrical breakdowns to minimise downtime and restore production. \nInterpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals. \nDiagnose and troubleshoot PLC and drive-related issues. \nLiaise with suppliers, OEMs and contractors to support equipment improvements and maintenance activities. \nMaintain accurate maintenance records and provide daily reports to management and stakeholders. \nTrain production personnel in basic maintenance activities and machine set-up procedures.\nQualifications:\nLevel 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) or equivalent. \nBS7671 18th Edition qualification. \nLevel 3 NVQ Diploma or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Maintenance. \nCompleted recognised engineering apprenticeship. \nMinimum five years' experience as an electrically biased maintenance engineer within a manufacturing or process environment. \nKnowledge and experience of PLCs and variable speed drives (desirable). \nATEX, DSEAR and COMPEX training or awareness (desirable). \nFamiliarity with health and safety regulations; IOSH qualification desirable. \nBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. \nStrong troubleshooting, communication, organisational and time management skills, with a self-motivated and proactive approach.\nCandidates must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
