As a hybrid leader, you are accountable for building and sustaining a disciplined maintenance & reliability program while also serving as the site’s primary engineering resource.\nYou will lead a small maintenance team (3 technicians) and directly influence plant performance through equipment reliability, process stability, and continuous improvement. This role is critical to ensuring the site operates safely, reliably, and efficiently, with minimal downtime and strong cost control.\nWhy This Role Matters\nThis is a high-impact, single-threaded leadership role where performance is directly visible in site results. Success will be measured by:\nImproved equipment reliability and reduced downtime \nStrong maintenance execution discipline \nStabilized and optimized process performance \nA capable, accountable maintenance team \nWhat You Will Do\nLead Safe & Compliant Operations\nDrive a strong safety culture across maintenance and engineering activities \nEnsure all work complies with site safety procedures, PSM requirements, and regulatory standards \nParticipate in incident investigations, PHAs, and MOC processes to ensure safe design and execution \nMaintain high housekeeping and operational discipline standards \nBuild & Lead Maintenance & Reliability Program\nOwn and continuously improve the site’s preventive and predictive maintenance program \nEnsure effective execution of the work management process (planning, scheduling, backlog discipline) \nPartner with operations to prioritize work based on safety, reliability, and production impact \nAnalyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions \nImprove uptime, reduce reactive work, and drive reliability-centered maintenance practices \nManage CMMS (SAP) data quality, asset history, and maintenance metrics \nSupervise Maintenance Team\nLead, coach, and develop a team of 3 maintenance technicians \nSet clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and accountability \nProvide hands-on support for troubleshooting and complex repairs when needed \nBuild team capability through training, knowledge sharing, and standard work development \nEnsure effective coverage for planned and unplanned maintenance needs \nOwn Process / Production Engineering (Department of 1)\nServe as the site’s primary process and production engineering resource \nTroubleshoot process issues impacting safety, quality, or throughput \nIdentify and implement process improvements to increase yield, reduce variability, and optimize performance \nLead small capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process modifications \nManage MOC process and ensure proper technical documentation and design standards \nPartner with corporate or external resources when deeper engineering support is required \nDrive Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement\nUse data and structured problem-solving to improve plant performance \nIdentify opportunities to reduce cost, improve energy efficiency, and increase productivity \nTrack and report key KPIs (downtime, MTBF/MTTR, maintenance cost, schedule adherence) \nSupport site initiatives related to safety, quality, and performance improvement \nManage Maintenance & Project Execution\nCoordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruption to operations \nEvaluate equipment performance and prioritize improvements or replacement strategies \nManage small capital and reliability projects from scope through execution \nMaintain control of maintenance-related spend and support budgeting efforts \nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or engineering within an industrial/manufacturing environment \nDemonstrated experience leading maintenance activities or small teams \nStrong mechanical and/or process engineering knowledge \nExperience in a PSM regulated facility and involvement in PHA’s \nExperience with CMMS systems (SAP or equivalent) \nProven troubleshooting and problem-solving capability across equipment and processes \nAbility to work across functions and influence operations, maintenance, and leadership \nStrong ownership mindset with a hands-on, field-oriented leadership style \nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) \nExperience building or improving maintenance/reliability programs \nBackground in chemical or process manufacturing \nExperience with reliability tools (RCFA, FMEA, predictive technologies) \nProject management experience for small capital projects \nExperience with Control logics and PLCs. \nOther\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
