Define Industrial Data Architecture for AI\nDesign end-to-end data flows from:\nEdge systems → cloud → AI pipelines → edge inference\nDefine:\nData storage patterns (time-series, relational, event-based) \nData movement and transformation strategies \nEnsure architecture supports:\nReal-time processing \nBatch analytics \nModel lifecycle integration \n2. Design Feature Pipelines and Delivery for AI Models\nDesign and govern the pipelines, storage, and lifecycle that build and deliver features to AI models, based on canonical definitions established by the Principal Manufacturing & Semantic Architect.\nDefine feature engineering pipelines for both training (cloud) and inference (edge) environments \nEnsure consistency between training datasets and runtime inference data \nPrevent feature drift and data mismatch through automated validation \n3. Integrate Semantic Model with Data Pipelines\nTranslate canonical semantic definitions into:\nPhysical data models \nSchemas \nPipelines \nEnsure all data structures conform to:\nEnterprise standards \nPlatform contracts \nAdditional Job Responsibilities\n4. Enable Scalable AI Model Integration\nDefine data interfaces required by:\nInternal AI teams \nExternal model providers \nSupport:\nModel versioning \nFeature compatibility \nPerformance validation \n5. Design for Multi-Tenant and Product Use Cases\nEnsure data pipelines and access patterns support multi-tenant environments, including:\nCustomer data isolation and secure access controls \nScalable onboarding of new tenants and use cases \nReuse of data pipelines across customers and deployments \nNote: The underlying data model for multi-tenancy is governed by the Principal Manufacturing & Semantic Architect.\n6. Collaborate Across Teams\nPartner with:\nPrincipal Manufacturing & Semantic Architect (canonical model definition and feature semantics) \nPrincipal Edge & OT Architect (edge data ingestion and inference data requirements) \nPlatform Engineering (implementation and infrastructure) \nAI/Data Science teams (model requirements and validation) \nEnsure consistent execution across domains.\nCompetencies\nStrong systemdesign and data modeling skills\n\nAbility to connect business, operational, and AI requirements\n\nHigh attention to data consistency and integrity\n\nCross-functional collaboration\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred) \n10+ years of experience in data architecture, industrial data systems, or IoT platforms \nStrong experience with time-series data (e.g., historian systems), data pipelines, and ETL/ELT \nStrong experience with distributed data systems \nUnderstanding of AI/ML data requirements and feature engineering concepts \nLeadership Expectations\nOperate as a thought leader in industrial data architecture and AI data strategy \nInfluence without direct authority across multiple teams and partners \nDrive standards adoption for data pipelines and AI data practices across internal and external stakeholders \nBalance long-term architectural vision with near-term delivery needs \nWork Environment & Travel\nTravel to manufacturing sites and partner locations as needed (~10-25%). \nOne-Line Summary\nDesign the data architecture that ensures AI models operate correctly, consistently, and at scale across industrial environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with:\nIndustrial IoT or edge-to-cloud platforms \nManufacturing systems (OT + IT integration) \nCloud data platforms (AWS preferred) \nFamiliarity with:\nStreaming architectures \nEvent-driven systems \nData governance frameworks \nOther\nWe are an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
