Today, Hexmodal supports more than 180 health systems across 48 states.\nThe Role (also the Mission)\nWe are looking for our first Internal Tools Lead to support the two developers working on that function and help empower our company with tools to achieve smooth and reliable manufacturing, delivery and subscription management workflows, provide analytics for business decisions and help empower AI enablement at the company.\nYou will be a team leader and make immediate impact through both the organization and technical management of the team, as well as contributing your own individual development work.\nThe internal tools team consists of managing and customizing our ERP and CRM , supporting our analytics developer in maintaining our data pipeline and dashboard, supporting integrations between disparate systems (Hubspot, Quickbooks, Hexmodal Application) as well as organizing our AI Enablement productivity tools.\nThe function is a key focus for Hexmodal, as we aim to scale our manufacturing and delivery process, the internal workflow productivity of our different business functions (Sales, Finance, etc), and guarantee data integrity between different systems, and informative , actionable dashboarding.\nGiven that you will be the first person in this role, you are passionate about laying a strong foundation of structure and organization for the development cycle, including roadmapping, demoing, testing and release. This role reports to our Head of Software and is based out of our NYC office 5 days a week.\nHere are some ways you’ll make an impact (also Outcomes of the role)\nProvide a technical management process to the internal tools team.\nAlign with the Head on Platform on a roadmap, and deliver the roadmap on schedule.\nCollaborate with team leads across the company to understand their pains, and engage with them on\nProactively assess team, manager, and organizational development needs, make data-driven recommendations, and implement solutions.\nRoll up your sleeves to execute IC responsibilities on the higher difficulty tasks.\nProvide thoughtful code reviews that provide constructive feedback to the developers, mentoring their growth as engineers.\nRespond to bugs and issues in a timely and structured manner, keeping the affected users informed and updated.\nGuide accessible tools to structure AI enablement tools.\nCompetencies we are looking for in the right candidate:\n5+ years of deep technical experience focused on backend development, with a strong product sense and flexibility in adopting new technologies and frameworks.\nPrior experience with development focused on internal stakeholders.\nPrior experience building complex sync pipelines between various sources-of-truth internal systems.\nPrior experience managing and scaling a technical team.\nDemonstrable HR expertise and understanding of all areas of HR from employee relations to labor laws, total rewards,\ncareer pathing, organizational design, and talent management\nExceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization\nStrong prioritization and project management skills\nProven ability to design clear processes while remaining agile, showing flexibility in problem\nsolving\nA clear and effective communication style, to enable productive collaboration on feature design with the many stakeholder teams that will be needing support.\nStrong ability to see all sides of an issue, remain objective, and move to resolution, prioritizing iteration and speed.\nBonus Points: (Some nice to haves for this role)\nPast experience in building AI enablement workflows (Claude Skills, MCPs, internal context bases)\nPast experience with customizing Odoo (our ERP)\nWhy Hexmodal\nAt Hexmodal, you’ll work on real problems with real-world constraints and have meaningful ownership over the results.
