UXO Technician Level 1 personnel will be responsible for performing the following general types of duties\nUXO surface sweeps, UXO subsurface clearances, UXO avoidance, and supporting geophysical/UXO surveys.\nProficient with current metal detectors.\nPrepare firing systems, both electric/non-electric, for demilitarization operations.\nTransport demolition materials and/or UXO and DMM determined to be safe over public traffic routes.\nAssist in the inspection of MPPEH for the presence of explosive hazards.\nConstruct UXO-related protective works.\nTo perform the duties of this position a person will need to be in good physical health and be able to lift 50 pounds in order to perform field tasks. Field tasks may take place in environments which include rugged terrain and weather extremes\nMinimum Requirements\nWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL\nThe ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:\nMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.\nMust be able to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.\nThis position requires minimum 0 - 3 years of commercial UXO experience. \nCandidates must meet the minimum qualifications for a UXO Technician 1 as outlined in Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDEB) Technical Paper 18 (TP 18) Minimum Qualifications for Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technicians and Personnel, which includes the following:Graduate of a formal course of instruction appropriate to this skill level.\nMust be able to perform all functions enumerated for UXO Sweep Personnel and UXO Technician.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nWHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT - Preferred, not required\nKnowledge of Geonics EM61-MK2, Trimble GPS/PDA and CDL with hazmat endorsements is a plus.\nComputer knowledge with MS Windows\nMS Excel\nMS Project and PowerPoint a plus\nBA of BS degree\nPhysical & Environmental Requirements\nPHYSICAL & COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS\nAbility to lift/move/relocate items up to 50 lbs \nProlonged standing up to 90% of the time\nWalking long distances\nWalking over uneven or mountainous terrain\nLifting, walking, driving, and working in harsh (hot/cold/windy/vegetated) environments\nRepetitive hand motions (typing, tool use, etc.)\nAbility to see details at close range\nAbility to see details at a distance\nViewing computer screen for extended periods\nAbility to interpret and analyze visual data (maps, graphs, warning indicators, etc.)\nOperating heavy machinery or tools (would only include for a role for heavy equipment operator)\nDriving a company or personal vehicle\nClimbing ladders or stairs\nWORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS\nMust be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)\nMust be able to travel up to 100% \nMay work in environments with loud noises, dust, or hazardous materials\nMust wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)\nRemote work environment\nPotential for longer days up to 12 hours in duration.\n\nThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee.
