If you are an experienced Machinist or Operator, there is an opportunity for you to build your career with us.\nPosition Overview:\nBD Diesel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CNC Programmer to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of CNC programs within our machine shop. This entry-level position is suited to someone who has completed a post-secondary machinist/CNC programming program and is looking to build their technical skills in a production manufacturing environment.\nWorking under the guidance of the CNC Programmer Team Lead and experienced machinists, this individual will assist with CNC programming, tooling selection, setup documentation, program verification, and production support. The role combines computer-based programming with hands-on shop floor learning to develop safe, accurate, and repeatable machining processes.\nThe ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in machining principles, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to quality and safety. Employees enjoy:\nCompetitive compensation and pay based on experience \nOpportunities for career growth in a growing company \nA supportive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment \nHands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and high-performance products \nBeing part of a recognized and respected brand in the diesel aftermarket \nWe are committed to helping our team thrive while producing the highest-quality products in the industry.\nSchedule:\n 4x10 Schedule\nMonday-Friday, with the specific days and hours to be confirmed.\nPay: $27-$32 / Per Hour\nRequirements\nAssist with developing and modifying CNC programs for milling and turning equipment using CAD/CAM software, under the guidance of the CNC Programmer Team Lead.\nReview technical drawings and CAD models to understand part dimensions, tolerances, materials, and machining requirements.\nAssist with selecting cutting tools, toolpaths, feeds, speeds, and machining sequences appropriate to the equipment and material.\nUse CAM simulation and established verification procedures to identify potential programming errors, collisions, and machining concerns before programs are released.\nSubmit new and revised programs for review and approval before production use, following established procedures.\nPrepare and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and other machining documentation.\nSupport machine setups, supervised program prove-outs, and first-piece inspections alongside experienced machinists.\nUse precision measuring instruments to check machined components against drawing and quality requirements.\nAssist with troubleshooting programming and machining issues, seeking guidance when problems exceed current training or experience.\nSupport improvements to cycle times, setup efficiency, tool life, and machining quality.\nAssist with tooling and work holding preparation, including basic fixture concepts under supervision.\nMaintain accurate program files and revision records in accordance with company standards.\nCollaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to support machining requirements for existing products and new product development.\nParticipate in training and apply feedback to build proficiency in CNC programming, machining practices, and CAD/CAM software.\nFollow established safety procedures and contribute to housekeeping, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.\nSupport production as needed, including operating CNC equipment, running parts, and assisting machinists to help meet production schedules and shop priorities.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.\nEducation & Experience\nCompletion of a post-secondary certificate or diploma in machining and CNC programming, or a closely related program with substantial CNC programming and practical machining training.\nNo previous industry work experience required.
