At H&H, you’ll join a firm that is building on its legacy by aligning expertise, expanding opportunity, and positioning itself for long-term, sustainable growth.\nResponsibilities\nLead the planning, analysis, and delivery of bridge load ratings and structural analysis in compliance with MassDOT requirements.\nPerform Level 1 and Level 2 load ratings as required by specific client needs.\nConduct engineering computations, prepare load rating reports, and develop demand models and capacity computations using owner-specific modeling and design software.\nServe as the responsible charge of a team of load rating engineers; provide technical direction, guidance, and supervision to technicians, mid-level, and entry-level engineers.\nDevelop staff training plans within established budgets.\nCoordinate with project managers to manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, QA/QC activities, and team collaboration.\nOversee and review analysis methodologies, model development, calculations, reports, and memorandums.\nManage teams distributed across multiple offices.\nParticipate in or direct field verification visits as needed.\nEngage in professional societies, including presenting and attending conferences.\nTravel between regional offices, as necessary.\nRequirements\n Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.\n 10+ years of bridge engineering experience; preference for candidates with 5+ years in bridge load rating or structural modeling.\n Completion of FHWA-approved comprehensive bridge inspection training (e.g., NHI “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges”).\n Completion of, or registration for, FHWA courses NHI-130092 and NHI-130095 (preference for completed).\n Knowledge of MassDOT Design & Load Rating Manuals and AASHTO Standards.\n Proficiency with engineering software such as AASHTOWare BrR, MIDAS, STAAD, LARSA, CSiBridge, and/or Sap2000.\n Proficiency with Autodesk and Bentley CAD software.\n Valid driver’s license.\n Strong communication, leadership, and business development skills.\n Professional Engineer (PE) license required in MA (or ability to obtain). Preference given to candidates with a Structural Engineer (SE) license.\n Benefits\nSalary range- $125,000-$175,000 annually.
