As a result, Hickory has become one of the most dynamic construction and property companies in Australia.POSITION OVERVIEW\nWe are seeking a motivated HSE Coordinator to join our Health, Safety and Environment team, providing practical, on-site HSE support across Hickory's operations.\nReporting to the HSE Manager, you will work closely with operational managers, supervisors and employees to promote safe work practices, identify and manage workplace risks, and support compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements. This is a varied, field-based role offering exposure to multiple areas of the business, including manufacturing, construction, logistics and precast operations. You'll play an important role in supporting HSE initiatives, strengthening safety practices and ensuring corrective actions are followed through to completion.\nWHAT HICKORY CAN OFFER\nNovated Leases: Take advantage of novated leasing options to maximise your salary and enjoy tax savings on vehicle expenses.\nFamily-Friendly Policies: Receive paid parental leave and continued superannuation contributions for eligible primary and secondary caregivers.\nH-Perks Employee Rewards: Enjoy exclusive employee discounts, cashback and special offers across everyday essentials, shopping, technology, fitness, travel and more.\nEmployee Wellbeing: Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for valuable support and resources.\nCareer Growth: Opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career, with exposure to new challenges and pathways.\nModern Manufacturing Environment: Work within an innovative modular manufacturing facility where design and production work closely together to deliver high-quality prefabricated solutions.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nProvide practical HSE support across Hickory's operations, including manufacturing, construction, logistics and precast facilities.\nConduct regular site inspections and workplace observations to identify hazards, assess risks and verify appropriate safety controls are in place.\nSupport operational teams in preparing and reviewing risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and safe work procedures.\nCoordinate site inductions, toolbox talks and refresher training, ensuring accurate attendance and training records.\nAssist with routine incident investigations, maintaining accurate documentation and escalating serious incidents or significant risks to the HSE Manager.\nMonitor and follow up corrective actions, working with operational teams to ensure identified safety issues are addressed and effectively closed out.\nMaintain accurate HSE records and reporting through HammerTech and other relevant systems.\nSupport the implementation of environmental controls, emergency procedures and workplace safety initiatives.\nBuild positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, employees and contractors to promote a proactive safety culture.\nTO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE\nPrevious experience in an HSE role within manufacturing, construction, logistics or a similar operational environment\nCertificate IV in WHS/OHS or higher with a willingness to develop practical industry experience.\nSound understanding of Victorian occupational health and safety requirements and workplace risk management principles.\nAbility to identify workplace hazards, support risk assessments and monitor the effectiveness of safety controls.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with employees, supervisors, managers and contractors.\nExcellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.\nA proactive, practical approach to safety, with the ability to work independently while recognising when matters require escalation.\nConstruction Induction White Card and current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these before undertaking relevant duties.\nExperience using HSE management systems such as HammerTech will be highly regarded.\nIf this sounds like your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
