Position Overview:
As we expand, we're looking for a Software Engineering Intern who is interested in solving challenging problems in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) through product development of high performance, embedded sensor software systems.

Learn, innovate, and grow alongside the team! This internship is onsite in Syracuse, NY, offering hands-on R&D experience and opportunities to collaborate closely with experienced engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of software components that advance our sensor’s ability to:
- Detect and track new types of targets
- Process target data with high throughput and reliable performance
- Monitor performance and health metrics and autonomously recover from faults
- Interact with cloud-based systems and other network components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and implement features
- Develop performant software and improve the existing codebase as an individual contributor
- Participate in collaborative design and code reviews
- Document and clearly communicate designs to peers
- Test and validate implementations to ensure proper and bug free operation

Required Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program pursuing Computer Science or Software Engineering, or a Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer or Electrical Engineering with a strong programming background
- Completed Sophomore year or greater by Summer 2027
- A minimum grade point average of 3.4. Recent transcript is required with application (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)
- Proficiency with Python
- Experience using and developing on Linux platforms
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and implementation best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn C++
- Familiarity with Radar Systems, Communication Systems, and Signal Processing
Hourly Rate Range: The hourly rate range for this position is estimated at $23 to $26 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
