We design, manufacture, and deploy advanced sensor systems that deliver real-time insights for defense and commercial applications.\nPosition Overview:\nAs we expand, we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team to help us accelerate our product development initiatives.\nLocation:\nWe do our best work together! This role is primarily onsite in Syracuse, NY, with some flexibility to work remotely when the role and schedule allow.\nResponsibilities:\nUse 3D solid modeling to design mechanical solutions for tightly controlled enclosures and fixtures \nAssist with or perform structural, thermal, and other failure analyses to meet environmental and structural requirements \nOptimize designs for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, thermal performance, strength-weight efficiency, and ease of assembly \nCreate and maintain cable assemblies/harnesses and other peripheral interface designs \nSolve design challenges using a variety of materials and fabrication methods including plastics, composites, metals, 3D-printing, machining, etc.\nDefine, maintain, and communicate requirements to 3rd-party fabrication houses and work closely with them through component and product delivery\nPerform design verification and integration of new components and support in-field testing\nAuthor assembly instructions and drawings in support of in-house production\nAid with the management of bills of material (BOM) and other production and fabrication artifacts\nReview hardware parts for obsolescence and identify suitable replacements\nAssist with or provide information in support of project planning, execution, and oversight\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nA desire to own project assignments and work creatively and collaboratively on cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that impress our customers and move our industry forward.\nAn open-minded approach to solving challenges, and proactive development of backup plans to ensure the team can hit the mark even when encountering the unexpected.\nA mindset trained on long-term goals and objectives, balanced with making demonstratable incremental steps along the way to meet the pace of our industry.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently convey complex ideas, coupled with an ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering\n0-5 years of professional experience\nProficiency with 3D CAD modeling tools\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration \nAbility to travel 10%\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with the design and development of hardened electronics enclosures\nExperience providing detailed mechanical design review feedback\nProficiency with performing thermal and structural analysis, detailed tolerance studies, dimensional fits and clearances analysis, and environmental hardening\nExperience with strict configuration management and design control\nExperience with the following (or similar): \nDesign and implementation of radar, communication, and other sensor systems \nSolidWorks 3D modeling software \nFEA simulation using ANSYS software\nGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) \nConfiguration management systems such as SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM)\nCompensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.\nSalary Range: The salary range for this position is estimated at $82,000 to $113,000 annually.
