Experience limited exclusively to graphical user interfaces will not be sufficient, as task solutions must be reproducible through code, scripts, configuration files, or command-line tools.\nWhat You'll Work On\nSolve and validate aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics problems.\n\nTranslate physical requirements into computational models and solver-ready cases.\n\nCreate or modify geometries, computational domains, and meshes.\n\nDefine appropriate initial conditions, boundary conditions, fluid properties, and solver settings.\n\nRun CFD and aerodynamic-analysis workflows using command-line-accessible tools.\n\nUse Python to automate preprocessing, simulation execution, parameter sweeps, postprocessing, and validation.\n\nAnalyze pressure, velocity, forces, moments, lift, drag, pressure loss, and other relevant outputs.\n\nDiagnose problems involving mesh quality, convergence, numerical stability, turbulence modeling, or boundary conditions.\n\nPerform mesh-independence studies, sanity checks, and comparisons against analytical, experimental, or reference results.\n\nReview AI-generated engineering solutions and identify incorrect assumptions, invalid configurations, and physically unrealistic outputs.\n\nDevelop clear, reproducible reference solutions and verification criteria.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nAn MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with an aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, or thermofluids specialization; or\n\nA BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering plus at least 1-2 years of aerodynamics-specific professional or research experience.\n\nStrong understanding of fluid mechanics and applied aerodynamics.\n\nExperience formulating and executing CFD or aerodynamic analyses.\n\nPractical proficiency with Python.\n\nExperience with at least one engineering tool or library that can be operated through a CLI, scripting interface, configuration files, or programmatic API.\n\nAbility to select and justify modeling assumptions, boundary conditions, mesh strategies, and solver settings.\n\nAbility to diagnose non-convergence, unstable solutions, incorrect results, and physically invalid outputs.\n\nAbility to communicate technical reasoning and engineering trade-offs clearly.\n\nRelevant Tools\nExamples include:\nOpenFOAM, SU2, Gmsh, FEniCSx, Elmer, CalculiX, SciPy, or similar programmatic engineering software.\nExperience with an equivalent CLI-accessible or programmatic engineering tool is also acceptable.\nRelevant Python Tools\nExamples include:\nNumPy, SciPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, solver APIs, mesh-processing libraries, and other scientific or domain-specific packages.\nNo single library is mandatory.\nHiring Process\nApply for the role and complete the screening questions.\n\nComplete an AI interview of approximately 30 minutes.\n\nComplete a technical assessment, if required.\n\nComplete the hiring manager review.\n\nCompensation Structure\nCompensation is output-based.
