We need a Business Engineer to turn operational bottlenecks into software, from the data model and API to the screens the team uses every day. You own features through launch, adoption and production support.\nWhat you'll actually do\nTurn growth team problems into useful features. Define a small first release and build it across backend and frontend.\n\nOwn database schemas, query performance and safe migrations on a live database.\n\nBuild third-party integrations that handle API quotas, rate limits, retries and webhooks.\n\nMake payment and messaging workflows safe to retry, without duplicate payouts or sends, and keep an audit trail.\n\nShip LLM features and measure quality, latency and cost per result.\n\nOwn environments, releases, monitoring, security and access. Share on-call responsibility.\n\nDefine success metrics, track adoption after launch and improve what you ship.\n\nMust-haves\nProduction experience. You've built and operated backend systems and can explain your decisions, personal contribution and results.\n\nStrong Python and full-stack delivery. You build backend services and React screens when a feature needs them.\n\nDeep PostgreSQL knowledge. Data modeling, query plans, indexes, transactions, locking and migrations on live databases.\n\nAPI security. Authentication, object-level authorization and role isolation. You prevent IDOR on reads and writes and test access as different users.\n\nHands-on operations. Linux, containers, CI/CD, monitoring and debugging production from logs. You can run what you build.\n\nHigh agency and ownership. You find worthwhile problems, remove blockers and follow through without waiting for assignments.\n\nLow ego. You welcome direct feedback, admit mistakes and change your mind with evidence.\n\nEnergy for an intense pace. The team ships daily, priorities shift and urgent production issues can need you outside regular hours.\n\nOur tech stack\nLanguages: Python and TypeScript.\n\nBackend: Python and Node.js services, REST APIs, background workers and scheduled jobs.\n\nFrontend: React with server-side rendering.\n\nData: PostgreSQL and S3-compatible object storage.\n\nInfrastructure: Linux, Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD.\n\nAI: LLM APIs from major providers.\n\nQuality: Static typing, linters and automated tests in both languages.\n\nBonus experience: Influencer marketing, affiliate programs or creator payouts; large-scale YouTube data within API quotas; email outreach and deliverability; LLM evaluations, prompt regression sets and cost tracking.\nInterview process\nRecruiter screen: role expectations, logistics and fit.\n\nTechnical interview: a difficult system you shipped, what you personally decided and built, and how your work made the team more capable without leaving it dependent on you.\n\nPractical task: a real problem from our backlog, under NDA.
