Additionally, assists in improving the security architecture of the City. This position will also collaborate with various stakeholders to conduct technical assessments and contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the City.Work is performed under the general supervision of the IT Cybersecurity Manager.\nEssential Tasks & Responsibilities:\nConduct regular monitoring and analysis of network traffic for cybersecurity threats. \nIdentify security anomalies and assess security controls for weaknesses. \nMitigate and contain detected malicious activities to minimize damage. \nInvestigate and resolve cybersecurity incidents or escalate as necessary. \nStay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. \nConduct vulnerability assessments and lead remediation processes. \nAddress compliance issues and remediate non-compliant devices. \nMaintain and update incident response playbooks based on lessons learned. \nContinuously enhance detection, investigation, and response capabilities. \nSupport City departments' regulatory and compliance requirements. \nCommunicate effectively with City departments, IT personnel, and technical vendors. \nAssist in developing cybersecurity awareness programs. \nEvaluate changes to network security architecture. \nDevelop and maintain information security policies and procedures. \nQualifications:\nMinimum of three years of experience as an IT analyst or in information security. \nDemonstrated experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems. \nKnowledge of TCP/IP networks, routing protocols, routers, switches, hubs, and virtual machine servers. \nProficiency in network troubleshooting, firewall management, IDS/IPS, VPN, and SIEM technologies. \nFamiliarity with cybersecurity threat analysis and intrusion detection principles. \nWorking knowledge of shell scripting languages. \nUnderstanding of information security principles, industry best practices, and relevant security regulations (e.g., CJIS, PCI). \nAbility to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. \nAbility to effectively troubleshoot complex network and computing problems. \nStrong written and oral communication skills. \nAbility to maintain effective professional relationships with management, employees, vendors, and the public. \nAvailability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends. \nPossession of a valid North Carolina Driver’s License. \nThe work location of this job will be 211 S Hamilton St High Point, North Carolina.Our Commitments\nThe City of High Point is dedicated to fostering a work environment that values individuals from all backgrounds and seeksto attract and retainthe most qualified partners in service to the citizens of High Point.
