If you are motivated by these principles, we encourage you to join our team!\nHTH seeks EL (English Learner) Teacher to provide instructional support for students at our schools. These positions are in person, and on campus.\nJOB SUMMARY\nUnder the direction of the School Director, the Teacher- EL provides instructional support for students who are identified as English Learners in a variety of settings including co-teaching, small group instruction, and in consultation with classroom teachers. The Teacher- EL will demonstrate diversity, equity and inclusion and model culturally responsive pedagogy. The EL Teachers also conduct all required testing, monitoring student growth and progress toward goals and support outreach, communications, ELAC committees and professional development.\nDuties include:\nHTH believes that high-quality instruction, and its continuous refinement, will lead to success for our students. We are looking for teachers who are highly effective in the following areas:\nKnowledge of research supporting development of EL students, ELD standards and EL supports and testing within California public schools.\nCoordinate ELPAC testing & complete all annual training modules for the Initial and Summative assessment.\nSend all required state communications to families regarding student language classification status.\nAssist in the reclassification process ensuring that all documentation is completed according to the state requirements.\nReview student assessment data to inform practices and curriculum development for integrated support within core teacher classrooms as well as utilizing California ELD standards and assessment data to plan for designated support.\nMonitor student progress data to share with stakeholders as all engage in processes for improving student outcomes.\nSupport administration of the CSA for the State Seal of Biliteracy (high school specific).\nPresent information at ELAC meetings, ensuring families know who supports EL students on campus.\nAdvocate for students and families and work to build collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.\nResponsive to all family communications, helpful in identifying resources and supports, as well as knowledgeable about all school program offerings so as to effectively disseminate information to families.\nLead the school in becoming more responsive to ELD needs by providing PD and announcements to staff in regularly scheduled professional development meetings\nComplete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Director.\nThe ideal candidate would possess the following competencies:\nExperience accelerating student learning and achievement\nSpanish language proficiency\nExperience and desire to use data and technology as levers to drive instruction\nExperienced classroom teachers\nKnowledge of state requirements for testing and supporting EL students.\nGrowth mindset and being able to use feedback to refine practice.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s degree\nValid California Teaching Credential or ability to attain one based on out of state certification\nCLAD, BCLAD, or English Learner Authorization\nComplete annual ELPAC training (fall and spring)\nSALARY & BENEFITS\nSalary is commensurate with experience.
