During training, the trainee will learn how to successfully be responsible for safely transporting people by bus on regularly scheduled High Valley Transit bus routes; pre & post trip procedures; and communicate with dispatch.\nGraduation from the training program will be based off of successfully passing Class B CDL permit tests. Upon Graduation employees will move into a full-time year-round Operator role.\nTraining & Pay Progression\nTraining Rate: $23.00 per hour during the approximately one-month training period.\nPost-CDL Rate: $28.00 per hour upon successful completion of training and obtaining the required CDL.\nThe increase to $28.00 per hour is contingent upon successfully obtaining the required CDL.\nRequirements\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nMust be a permanent U.S. resident or U.S. citizen and able to obtain an unrestricted CDL license.\nMinimum 21 years of age\nPossess a valid Utah driver's license with no moving violations in the past twelve (12) months\nMust pass a criminal and background check\nMust pass a drug screening\nDemonstration of recent customer service experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience\nAbility to perform the physical requirement of the job including regular walking, floor to waist lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally/carrying up to 15 lbs. occasionally, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, balancing, bending, and prolonged periods of sitting and standing\nWilling to obtain Class B permit with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsement\nAbility to obtain a Medical DOT Card before receiving Commercial Learners Permit (CLP)\nSafety-sensitive position requires mandatory and/or random drug and alcohol screenings.\nAble and willing to work day or evening shifts, weekends, and holiday shifts as assigned.\nAble to prepare legible written reports of incidents and accidents.\nWe offer a generous benefit package with options for a premium free health plan, dental plan, and life insurance.
