And we invite you to experience it with us!\nOverview\nThe Engineering Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering department. In the absence of the Director, the Engineering Manager will assume the administrative, financial and operating aspects of the hotel as they relate to engineering.\nResponsibilities\nProvide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times\nDeal promptly and efficiently with guest complaints and needs\nHave a thorough knowledge of emergency and safety procedures\nRespond to all emergency situations and be prepared to assist\nResponsible for the ordering of supplies, tools and equipment and maintaining proper par levels to corporate department standards.\nThis role will support, maintain and implement the department’s BOH preventive maintenance program.\nAssist with other duties as assigned and serve as “Building Manager” as required while maintaining and repairing the interior and exterior of the building.\nWill be required to represent and support the Chief Engineer in his absence confidently on all levels to ownership, corporate executive leadership, contractors or other department heads.\nCreate and implement a PM program for the back of the house areas\nCreate and implement a PM program for the mechanical equipment in the building\nReview, adhere, and understand all safety procedures (such as LOTO)\nPerform maintenance checks of equipment and logs properly\nAttend Daily Operations Meeting\nSupervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention\nEnsure cleanliness and orderliness of all workspaces, shops, and storage areas\nTrain and Supervise to Building Managers on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly duties and responsibilities\nEvaluate to Building Managers as necessary - Coordinate with HR\nMaintain and obtain all licenses as needed by the NYC, NY State and other Government agencies needed for the building\nStaff and direct the performance of the staff and follow-up with corrective action when needed\nAdhere to all work rules, procedures, polices established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the employee handbook\nExperience with union issues.\nAssist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in a safe and acceptable state of repair.\nEnsure the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.\nEnsure all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per Highgate Hotel standards.\nActively participate in energy conservation programs.\nFollow up on all alarms immediately to determine the exact location and cause. Determine emergency status and report findings to Front Desk.
