SDE III (Backend)

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer III (SDE III) with 4-6.5 years of experience in building scalable, distributed applications. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising backend services while contributing to frontend features where required. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working with modern cloud-native architectures, and building highly reliable systems at scale. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality software that powers millions of users globally.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Golang, or Node.js .
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs and microservices with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Develop robust data models using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement caching, messaging, and event-driven architectures using technologies like Redis, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Contribute to frontend development using modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and user experience across frontend and backend systems.
• Implement observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Ensure application security by following best practices for authentication, authorisation, secure APIs, and OWASP standards.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (LLMs, code assistants) to improve development productivity and code quality.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, production support, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products while mentoring junior engineers where appropriate.

Requirements:

• 4-6.5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Golang, or Node.js (NestJS preferred).
• Good understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and backend architecture.
• Experience building scalable APIs and backend services.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and data modelling.
• Experience with event-driven systems using Kafka, Redis Streams, or Pub/Sub.
• Exposure to frontend development using React, Vue, or Angular.
• Understanding of frontend state management (Redux, MobX, Vuex, etc. ).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorisation, and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with cloud-native development and modern software engineering best practices.
• Good problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
