Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers, you’ll take features from early research and design through prototyping and implementation.\nThis role combines product design with front-end development. You’ll use customer feedback, design systems, and AI-powered tools to create intuitive, accessible, and consistent product experiences.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design of features within your area end to end, creating intuitive user flows, interactions, and states.\n\nConduct user research, participate in customer interviews, and run usability tests to gather feedback and inform design decisions.\n\nCreate visual designs and interactive prototypes to test ideas and improve usability.\n\nBuild interactive prototypes in code and accessible, production-ready front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and React.\n\nUse AI-powered tools to support research, design exploration, prototyping, and front-end development.\n\nDesign AI and agentic experiences that build user trust, transparency, and control, following responsible AI and data practices.\n\nWork with Product Managers and Engineers to turn validated designs into production-ready features that balance customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.\n\nUse and contribute to Neon One’s design system in both design files and code, including new components, variants, and usage guidance, and keep design and code in sync.\n\nApply WCAG 2.1 AA standards in every design and component, including keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen reader support.\n\nReview and refine implemented designs to maintain visual consistency, usability, and quality.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, share design decisions, and incorporate feedback to continuously improve the product.\n\nMust Haves\n3+ years of experience in product design, design engineering, or a hybrid design and front-end development role.\n\nStrong design skills across user flows, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.\n\nWorking proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript, with experience in modern frameworks such as React or Vue.\n\nFamiliarity with version control and code review.\n\nExperience with Figma or similar tools, and experience using and contributing to design systems and component libraries in both design files and code.\n\nHands-on experience using AI tools, including AI coding tools, to support design and development.\n\nFoundational UX research skills, including usability testing and incorporating feedback into design decisions.\n\nWorking knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and assistive technology testing.\n\nA portfolio demonstrating end-to-end process, from research through shipped outcomes, including work built in code.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product Managers and Engineers.\n\nNice to Haves\nExperience in the nonprofit industry.\n\nExperience working in a B2B SaaS environment.\n\nWhy Join Neon One?\nAt Neon One, our values are how we show up every day.
