Those who succeed at Highmark will do so because they enjoy an empowered, challenging, fulfilling, and financially rewarding workplace!\nWhy we need you:\nThe Human Resource Specialist assists and supports the Benefits Manager and Human Resources Manager with benefits and associate-related administration.\nWhat Highmark can do for YOU:\nHelp you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and regular career progression sessions\nCompetitive pay for the market\nMonthly bonus opportunities for all site associates\n30% associate rent discount\nMedical, Dental & Vision benefits the 1st of the month following 30 days of full-time employment\nCompany-provided life insurance, short term and long term disability coverage\nFlexible Spending accounts\n401(k) eligibility after 90 days, with 4% Highmark match\nProfessional Certification & Tuition reimbursement\nVacation, Sick and Personal Time off available to use after 90 days\n10 paid holidays\nPaid parental leave\nResponsibilities\nResponsibilities include (but are not limited to):\nAssist with the ongoing and routine benefit enrollment process for new hires and qualified life events.\nAssist associates with benefit inquiries to ensure response in a timely manner.\nReconcile and audit monthly benefit invoices.\nAssist with Open Enrollment inquiries, communication, and enrollment.\nAssist Benefits Manager with leave administration including working with associates, managers, and third-party vendor to manage all leaves of absence from initial inquiry to return to work.\nUpdate Cobra participants with carriers.\nUpdate 401(k) changes in UKG.\nRespond to state mandated medical support orders and updates associate records to comply with request.\nAssist with unemployment claims including gathering documentation, investigation, and submission of claims responses.\nAid in I-9 compliance including running reports to monitor expiration of work authorizations, verifying documentation, sending out correspondence, and updating I-9s in UKG.\nCoordinate and track exit and stay interviews.\nRun and review reports related to performance management and ensure timely completion by managers.\nAssist with Corporate new hire packets and orientation.\nMaintain complete familiarity with all HR related and Highmark policies.\nAssists in updating HR related policies on the Highmark Portal.\nProvides excellent customer service and timely responses to Highmark associates.\nAssist with new HR/Benefits programs and initiatives.\nMaintains accurate HR records on all associates within UKG.\nProvides operational and administrative back up to the office services team.\nCross-trains in other HR functional areas\nCommitment to continuous learning to keep up with the changes in employment law within Human Resources and best practices within the apartment industry.\nMaintains strict confidentiality of all personnel information.\nCarries out other duties as assigned by Managers in the HR Department\nQualifications\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma, college degree preferred\n3 to 5 years of HR administrative experience\nAverage proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint\nUltiPro (UKG) experience, preferred\nProfessional communication skills, verbal and written\nExcellent planning, analytical and problem-solving abilities\nStrong customer service, organizational skills and team player disposition\nProven ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment\nStrong time management skills with acute attention to detail\nBilingual in Spanish a plus\nReq.
