Founded in 1996, Horizon Industries Limited (Horizon) has evolved into a company of highly qualified professionals that provides full-cycle IT consulting and Management support in both the private and public sectors.\nHorizon’s culture is based on our core values, and we PRIDE ourselves on a diverse, employee, and family-centric approach.\n\nWho we are looking for\nWe are currently seeking a Business Analyst (Appian) for a full-time position remotely, supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).\nWe are an organization that is committed to your growth and success in the IT software development industry and looking for a Business Analyst (Appian) who is ready to assume leadership responsibilities in a supportive team environment that is focused on your success as a function of client success.\nWhat your day-to-day will look like / Duties:\nReview user stories in backlog; gain a solid understanding of the changes needed.\nCollaborate with Product Owners to understand user stories and updates needed.\nDocument acceptance criteria for user stories and bug tickets.\nHelp Developers understand the user stories and acceptance criteria, and lead discussions of new functionality.\nTest user stories and ensure that testing is appropriately documented, with evidence recorded.\nServe as scrum master/ lead daily scrums.\nDevelop an agenda for backlog grooming session; get concurrence with Product Owners.\nLead backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners.\nLead demo day and introduce stories to the Product Owners\nTrain stakeholders on new functionality\nDocument business processes and changes\nUpdate requirements documentation\nUpdate user manuals\nWhat we would like to see on your resume/ Required Skills\nProvide detailed, comprehensive, testable, and traceable process components in several formats, including but not limited to Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Data Requirements, System Software Specifications, and Use Cases.\nProvide business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation support.\nTranslate business process needs into technical requirements, provide change management and training support.\nThe ability to communicate organizational and strategic planning for both technical and functional environments.\nFive (5) years of current experience (including educational) in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts, change management, and training support.\nIt is desired that this person has UI/UX experience with software applications.\nExperience in Agile and JIRA is required.\nScrum master certification is nice to have.\nAny testing-related certification is a plus.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as software engineering, information systems, computer science, business, etc.\n Why you will succeed at Horizon\nHorizon works at the forefront of new Appian features and development practices and supports its employees in being trained and certified in the latest and greatest.
