This role contributes to full lifecycle development, system integration, troubleshooting, testing, and Tier 2/3 operational support in a secure DoD environment. This position requires strong experience in Java, JavaScript, SQL, system integration, cloud environments, and modern agile development practices.\nDuties of a Full Stack Developer may include: \nDesign, develop, test, and maintain application components using:Java (JDK)\nJavaScript, HTML, CSS\nSQL and database-driven components\n\nDevelop secure REST and SOAP web services.\nBuild and support integrations with external DoD and federal systems.\nImplement software according to DoD cybersecurity, test, and configuration standards.\nSupport deployment and release activities in cloud-hosted environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud).\nWork within 2-6 week sprint cycles using government-provided tools (e.g., JIRA or equivalent).\nCollaborate with Product Owners and SMEs to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.\nParticipate in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and demos.\nProvide estimates, maintain story updates, and deliver development documentation.\nProvide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to resolve incidents, defects, and user-reported issues.\nConduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.\nMaintain integration flows and ensure data accuracy and system reliability.\nMonitor environments and resolve performance or functionality issues.\nDevelop and maintain:Technical specifications\nInterface and integration documentation\nTest scripts and execution results\nRelease notes and version control logs\n\nSupport Change Advisory Boards (CAB) and Configuration Control Boards (CCB) as required.\nFollow DISA, DoD, and program-specific development standards and processes.\nWork effectively with government stakeholders, engineering teams, functional SMEs, testers, and security personnel.\nSupport risk identification, mitigation planning, and continuous improvement.\nCommunicate technical issues and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nRequired Skills / Experience:\n5+ years of full-stack development experience.\nProficiency with: Java (JDK), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL and relational databases, Web service development (REST/SOAP), CI/CD tools and pipelines, Middleware (WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat), Data integration / ETL layers\nExperience with: Cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GovCloud equivalents), Version control (Git, SVN, etc.), Defensive coding and secure development practices\nExperience working within Agile/Scrum environments.\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.\nWhy you will love working with us/ Perks\nA comprehensive benefits package including healthcare (medical, dental, vision and disability)\na 401 (k) program where you are 100% vested from day one with an employer match after 90 days.\nAn Educational Assistance program.\na Student Loan Repayment Program\nGym Reimbursement Program.\nPaid Time off\nDynamics, a passionate, multi-disciplinary team of creative minds to work with, and many more.\nHorizon is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, and it is our policy to consider all applicants for employment.
