As a Bartender, you will help bring that mission to life by creating a warm, enjoyable experience for residents, preparing beverages and food, and delivering service in a professional and courteous manner.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs a Bartender, you will use your beverage, menu, and service knowledge to help residents enjoy a memorable experience while following all applicable alcohol-service requirements.\nYou will:\nGreet residents warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.\nAssist residents with beverage and food selections.\nPrepare and serve drinks and food in a professional and courteous manner.\nEnter all food and beverage orders accurately into the point-of-sale system.\nFollow all applicable alcohol-service laws and Hillcrest policies.\nComplete opening and closing responsibilities according to established checklists.\nPrepare the bar for service, including filling the ice well and stocking bar snacks.\nPrepare fruit garnishes and other items needed for beverage service.\nWash glasses and maintain clean, organized bar areas.\nClean and sanitize counters, tables, chairs, and other service areas.\nRestock liquor and other beverage products as needed.\nMonitor and maintain beer, wine, liquor, and food inventory.\nAssist with inventory counts and product tracking.\nSupport special events and community celebrations.\nParticipate in menu development when appropriate.\nAttend department meetings and contribute to a positive team environment.\nRespond to resident questions, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.\nAssist with additional dining and hospitality responsibilities as assigned.\nThe role combines beverage service, food service, POS responsibilities, inventory control, sanitation, and resident hospitality.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and understands how much the little details can shape a resident’s experience.\nThe right candidate will be friendly, dependable, and comfortable creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. You will need to balance great customer service with attention to alcohol-service requirements, sanitation, inventory, and accurate order tracking.\nIdeal candidates will have:\nA friendly, welcoming, and service-focused personality.\nPrevious bartending experience.\nPrevious restaurant, dining, hospitality, or food and beverage experience preferred.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to provide courteous and professional service to residents and guests.\nStrong attention to detail with orders, inventory, and POS entry.\nDependability and consistent follow-through.\nAbility to remain calm and professional when handling resident or guest concerns.\nAbility to stay organized during busy service periods.\nStrong teamwork and willingness to help wherever needed.\nAbility to follow sanitation, food-safety, and alcohol-service requirements.\nComfort working independently while remaining part of the larger dining and community team.\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.\nAt least one year of bartending experience.\nPrevious food and beverage service experience preferred.\nMust be 19 years of age or older.\nWhy Hillcrest?\nHospitality is an important part of everyday life at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna.\nFor residents, stopping by for a drink, something to eat, or simply a conversation can be an enjoyable part of the day.
