The Local Planner also monitors operational alerts, resolves non-conformance issues, and maintainsaccuratedata related to quality, claims, and safety. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment under time pressure, and a solid working knowledge of the local geographic area and moving equipment.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nNone\nKey Duties and Responsibilities\nCoordinate and dispatch daily local moving jobs, assigning crews, trucks, and equipment to ensure efficient, on-time execution.\nLead morning dispatch, confirming crew assignments, routes, and job details before trucks leave the yard.\nPartner with agents, sales staff, internal departments, and customers as needed to resolve scheduling conflicts and keep jobs on track.\nHost daily crew huddles to communicate job expectations, safety reminders, and any changes to the day's schedule.\nReview job paperwork with crews prior to dispatch to confirm accuracy and completeness.\nProofread and audit completed paperwork for compliance with company documentation standards.\nInspect crews and equipment for adherence to uniform policies and vehicle/equipment cleanliness standards.\nMonitor dispatch alerts and operational notifications throughout the day, addressing non-conformance issues as they arise.\nMaintain ongoing communication with crews and customer service coordinators to track job progress and resolve issues in real time.\nEnter and maintainaccurate, up-to-date records related to quality, claims, and safety.\nSupport company performance goals and operational standards through consistent, detail-oriented dispatch management.\nRequired Experience/Skills: Education/Work Experience/Certificates\nEducation/Work Experience/Certificates\nTwo to four years of experience in the moving and storage industry\nSolid understanding of the geographical area\nKnowledge and understanding of truck sizes, types, and functions\nFluent in English (written and verbal) and it would be helpful to be able to converse in Spanish \nCore Skills\nCustomer focused, collaborative, communicative, resilient, strive for inclusion of others, organized\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand, walk, and remain active throughout the warehouse and operational areas for extended periods.\nAbility to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and move between work areas to coordinate crews and daily dispatch activities.\nAbility to enter and exit vehicles and safely inspect trucks, equipment, and work areas.\nAbility to lift, carry, and move equipment, supplies, and materials as needed to support daily operations.\nAbility to work in varying warehouse and outdoor conditions and maintain physical activity during busy or peak periods\nAbout Hilldrup\nHilldrup is one of the largest and most honored agency groups in the entire industry, operating facilities in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
