This individual contributor will report to the Director of R&D and work closely to develop and validate diagnostic assays supporting both traditional and at-home testing programs, and support assay implementation into clinical operations. The ideal candidate is bench-strong, with hands-on experience across the full assay development lifecycle - from feasibility and optimization through verification and validation; and thrives in a fast-moving, early-stage environment\nThis is an on-site laboratory role based in Central New Jersey.\nYou Will:\nAssay Development and Validation\nDesign and execute immunoassay development, optimization, and verification studies including ELISA, chemiluminescent, and multiplex formats\n\nPerform method validation experiments including precision, accuracy, linearity, interference, and stability testing per established protocols\n\nApply Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical methodologies to assay optimization and troubleshooting\n\nSupport LC-MS/MS method development and validation for clinical chemistry and hormone analytes\n\nEvaluate performance characteristics of capillary versus venous specimens, investigate interference, and develop strategies to extend sample stability\n\nDevelop and revise SOPs to support consistent, reproducible laboratory operations\n\nPrepare validation summaries, protocols, and technical reports in compliance with quality and regulatory standards\n\nLaboratory Execution\nPerform hands-on laboratory testing using specimens collected via at-home devices such as Tasso and YourBio Health, including whole blood, plasma, serum, and other biological matrices\n\nOperate LC-MS/MS instrumentation (SCIEX 4500MD or equivalent) including sample preparation, method validation, and data review\n\nSupport testing on automated chemistry and hematology platforms including Roche Cobas Pro and Sysmex systems, including CBC and whole blood analyte workflows\n\nSupport liquid handling automation workflows for sample processing and high-throughput laboratory operations\n\nTroubleshoot assay performance issues across immunoassay, clinical chemistry, mass spectrometry, and molecular diagnostic platforms\n\nData Analysis\nAnalyze experimental data and perform statistical evaluation of assay performance including precision, bias, and total allowable error modeling\n\nPrepare figures, tables, and technical summaries for internal review and scientific communication\n\nContribute to peer-reviewed publications and scientific conference presentations\n\nQuality and Regulatory Collaboration\nPartner with the Quality team to ensure study designs and documentation meet CAP, CLIA, and applicable regulatory requirements\n\nSupport investigation and resolution of sample rejection issues to improve overall laboratory quality metrics\n\nSupport laboratory inspection readiness and audit preparation activities\n\nCollaborate with Clinical Laboratory Operations during assay transfer and implementation\n\nYou Have:\nPhD in Clinical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field with 4+ years; OR Master’s degree with 7+ years; OR Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant bench experience in a diagnostic or clinical laboratory setting\n\nDemonstrated hands-on experience in immunoassay development including singleplex and multiplex formats\n\nExperience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation including sample preparation and method validation\n\nExperience with capillary and venous blood-based specimen types\n\nDemonstrated experience leading assay validation and verification studies\n\nExperience applying DOE and statistical methodologies to assay development and optimization\n\nProven ability to work independently and drive projects from concept to completion\n\nPreferred\nExperience in a CAP and/or CLIA regulated laboratory environment\n\nExperience with at-home or point-of-care diagnostic testing programs\n\nExperience with dried blood spot (DBS) workflows and stability characterization\n\nFamiliarity with emerging biomarker categories relevant to metabolic health, longevity, and consumer wellness testing\n\nExperience with NGS-based workflows including library preparation and bioinformatics data review\n\nOur Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):\nCompetitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles\n\nUnlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days\n\nComprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave\n\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)\n\n401k benefits with employer matching contribution\n\nOffsite team retreats\n\nWe are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging.
