Our engineering teams play a critical role in achieving this by building the platforms and services that power our patient and provider experiences.\nAs a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high performance solutions across back end systems. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and influence the direction of our platform.\nYou Will:\nLead the design and architecture of scalable and performant backend solutions that meet product requirements and enhance the experience of the platform you support.\n\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.\n\nAdvocate for your team's technical needs and priorities within the broader engineering organization.\n\nParticipate in product discovery sessions to assess feasibility, explore user needs, define product features, and validate ideas with prototypes and experiments.\n\nWork closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and communication across systems and services.\n\nContribute to the vision for the team and the platform as a technical leader, identifying new and strategic technologies and technical investments that improve security, scalability, reliability, and performance.\n\nBreak down complex projects into clear, actionable tasks to drive successful outcomes.\n\nImplement observability practices across the platform, including logging, monitoring, and alerting, to ensure system reliability and performance.\n\nElevate the team's engineering standards by leading efforts to improve workflows, processes, and tools.\n\nAnalyze performance metrics and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and drive optimization efforts.\n\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for architecture and development processes.\n\nConduct code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives within the team.\n\nIdentify performance bottlenecks and propose enhancements to optimize system performance and reliability.\n\nStay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and propose innovative solutions to improve the platform.\n\nAct as a key contributor to the hiring process by assisting with interviews and onboarding new engineers.\n\nModel a culture of open communication and continuous improvement by providing constructive feedback and coaching to junior team members.\n\nYou Have:\n5+ years as a software engineer, shipping production code.\n\n3+ years of experience with back end distributed system design, development, and delivery.\n\n3+ years of experience with microservice architectures.\n\nBachelor's or higher in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.\n\nProven experience in building scalable web applications and services, preferably in a cloud environment.\n\nProficiency with the delivery and hosting of front ends and microservices on Kubernetes and AWS.\n\nExcellent problem solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.\n\nExperience with agile software development and delivery methodology.\n\nExperience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, including integrated unit tests and end to end integration tests.\n\nExperience with Relational Databases, PostgreSQL preferred.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across teams.\n\nCapable of prioritizing multiple projects in order to meet goals without management oversight.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nHealthcare tech, wearables, or connected device data experience.\n\nFamiliarity with front end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, React Native, NextJS).\n\nExperience building developer frameworks or tools (e.g., having contributed to a framework itself, not just built with one).\n\nWeb performance optimization experience.\n\nOur Benefits (there are more, but here are some highlights):\nCompetitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles\n\nUnlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days\n\nComprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave\n\nEmployee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)\n\n401k benefits with employer matching contribution\n\nOffsite team retreats\n\nWe are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging.
