In this role, you will play a key part in the development and sustaining work for our hardware products.\nAs a junior-to-mid-level engineer, you will work on diverse projects, driving board-level designs for highly integrated medical devices from schematic to layout to assembly. You will work cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to bring products from concept through production. As an Electrical Engineer on the Hardware Engineering team, you’ll contribute to board-level designs from early exploration through production, working closely with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing partners. Your work will help bring reliable medical devices to members working to reduce pain and improve their lives.\nWhat You’ll Accomplish\nIn your first 3 months\nBuild an understanding of our hardware products, electrical design practices, product development process, and manufacturing needs\n\nContribute to embedded-system electrical design, including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout\n\nIn your first 6 months\nPartner with mechanical, firmware, and senior electrical engineers on system architecture and integration\n\nTake part in prototyping, detailed design, testing, and preparation for production\n\nDocument design decisions and test results to support product quality and applicable medical-device requirements\n\nIn your first year\nDrive board-level design work across product development, from exploration and prototyping through verification and production ramp\n\nSupport manufacturing and sustaining engineering through test or process development, design-for-manufacturing improvements, and component-level failure analysis\n\nHelp sustain products after launch and identify design changes that can improve cost or manufacturability\n\nWho You Are\nYou are a hands-on electrical engineer who enjoys turning product needs into reliable embedded hardware\n\nYou bring a Learn-it-all mindset, seek feedback, and keep building your technical knowledge\n\nYou take accountability for your work, communicate progress and risks, and follow through on commitments\n\nYou work well across disciplines and are motivated by the impact thoughtful hardware can have on people’s lives\n\nBasic Qualifications\n2+ years of professional experience in hardware development or embedded-systems design\n\nExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout for multilayer boards, including hands-on board bring-up, debugging, and rework on high-density designs\n\nExperience designing microcontroller-based systems (such as ARM Cortex-M or MSP430) and using standard digital interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, or USB; proficiency with common lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and soldering or hot-air rework equipment\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency with Altium Designer\n\nExperience with battery management, Bluetooth Low Energy, high-voltage circuits, or analog design\n\nExperience developing medical devices or products in another regulated industry, such as aerospace or automotive\n\nFamiliarity with EMI/EMC practices and certification processes such as FCC, CE, or UL\n\nBasic proficiency in Python for test automation or C/C++ for firmware changes that support bring-up and testing\n\nExperience transitioning designs to manufacturing and applying design-for-manufacturing practices\n\nHinge Health Hybrid Model\nWe believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds.
