This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a commercially minded, results-driven individual who can improve operational efficiency, grow sales, control costs and maintain strong customer relationships with minimal supervision.\nResponsibilities:\nOversee daily production activities, ensuring production targets, quality standards and operational efficiency are consistently achieved.\n\nMaximise production output and machinery utilisation while minimising downtime, wastage and product rejects.\n\nIdentify production bottlenecks, investigate operational challenges and implement corrective actions.\n\nCoordinate preventative maintenance and ensure production equipment is properly maintained.\n\nManage dispatch operations, ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.\n\nCoordinate stock availability, loading and transport arrangements while maintaining accurate stock records and minimising losses.\n\nDrive sales growth, identify new business opportunities and expand the branch's customer base.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, retailers and other business partners.\n\nPrepare and follow up on quotations, orders and customer enquiries, resolving complaints promptly and professionally.\n\nAchieve sales targets while protecting profit margins and overall branch profitability.\n\nManage, supervise and motivate branch employees, setting clear performance expectations and ensuring accountability.\n\nMonitor staff attendance, productivity, discipline and compliance with company procedures.\n\nIdentify training needs and promote teamwork, continuous improvement and a performance-driven working environment.\n\nOversee branch administration, purchasing coordination, operational reporting and financial controls.\n\nMonitor operating expenses, production costs, stock movements and outstanding customer accounts.\n\nEnsure accurate documentation and compliance with health and safety requirements, company policies and applicable legislation.\n\nEstablish and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production and sales targets.\n\nProvide regular reports to group management on production, sales, dispatch, stock, quality, downtime and financial performance.\n\nIdentify opportunities to reduce costs, improve productivity and increase profitability.\n\nTake ownership of operational challenges and ensure the branch operates efficiently with minimal intervention from group management.\n\nRequirements:\nProven experience in manufacturing, production management, branch management or operations management.\n\nStrong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.\n\nExperience managing staff across multiple operational functions.\n\nDemonstrated ability to improve productivity, control costs and achieve operational targets.\n\nExperience in sales, customer relationship management and business development.\n\nStrong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.\n\nGood commercial awareness, including cost control, budgeting and profitability.\n\nExperience with stock-management systems, business systems and operational reporting.\n\nStrong planning, organisational, communication and time-management skills.\n\nAbility to work under pressure, meet demanding targets and operate independently.\n\nA proactive, hands-on and accountable approach to management.\n\nExperience in the roofing, building materials, concrete products or related manufacturing industries will be advantageous.\n\nRelevant technical or management qualifications will be advantageous.\n\nAbility to take ownership of overall branch performance, from factory-floor operations to customer negotiations.\n\nBenefits:\n\nSalary: negotiable.\nContact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.\nApply for this role today, contact Abigail King at Hire Resolve or on LinkedIn.\nYou can also visit the Hire Resolve website: hireresolve.us or email us your CV: \nWe will contact you telephonically in 3 days should you be suitable for this vacancy.
