The credit controller will be responsible for recovering money owed by a customer to the organization. Also report to sales and management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential debtor problems.\n\nResponsibilities:\nCarry out full function of credit control.\nEnsure that all queries relating to requests for proof of delivery, goods returned, rebates or claims will be resolved within a reasonable timeframe.\nLiaise with sales staff on issues related to debtors control.\nLiaise with sales staff, regarding status of account and discuss overdue amounts which are not resolved and find a solution to prevent aging of accounts.\nAccept responsibility for the performance and duties as laid down by company policy.\nMonthly debtors reconciliations\nDaily telephonic collections and recording of such action on system.\nDaily action of outstanding queries\nMonthly Cash flow / banking forecasting\nProcessing daily receipting and ageing debtors accounts correctly\nDaily assistance to other departments such as sales and procurement\nMaintaining debtors ageing according to terms and credit limits\nReporting default of payment to Credit Control Supervisor\nMeet monthly collection targets and reduce number of days sales outstanding.\nMinimize credit risks.\nAttend debtors meetings and report on ageing.\nIssue final demands/ slow payment letters.\nFollowing internal process to suspend defaulting customers.\nAttend to monthly statements and close-off procedures.\nRequirements:\nMatric is essential and a tertiary qualification will be an advantage\nMinimum of 5 years relevant experience\nCopes effortlessly within a high stress and pressurized environment\nStrong reconciliation skills\nStrong problem solving skills\nAbility to sense unnecessary credit risks and escalate problems to management\nExcellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills required\nExcellent administration skills required\nAbility to work and perform without direct supervision\nIf you meet the above requirements and are looking to take the next step in your credit control career, we would love to hear from you.
