The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the flow wrapping machine to ensure products are packaged accurately and in accordance with quality standards.Responsibilities:\nOperate the flow wrap automatic packing machine to required standards to ensure smooth production flow.\n\nStart up, monitor, and shut down the machine as needed, including refilling packaging materials.\n\nSet up the machine according to product-specific packaging requirements.\n\nPerform regular checks and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.\n\nConduct routine preventative maintenance and cleaning to minimize downtime.\n\nIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues; escalate and work with the production manager for resolution.\n\nMonitor product quality during the production and packing process to ensure consistency.\n\nPerform visual inspections and quality checks on packaged products.\n\nAddress any quality issues promptly and report them to the production manager.\n\nEnsure the correct packaging is used for specific product lines and that packaging meets company standards.\n\nMaintain accurate records of machine settings, production output, wastage, and maintenance activities.\n\nDocument all issues, solutions, and changes made during the shift.\n\nMove completed product boxes to the correct inventory/storage area.\n\nCoordinate with the production manager and warehouse team for smooth operational flow.\n\nOrganise and monitor casual labour where required to support production.\n\nEnsure full compliance with FSMS (Food Safety Management Systems), company policies, procedures, and relevant safety regulations.\n\nReport any safety concerns or hazards immediately and follow all safety protocols.\n\nWork closely with the production team to meet daily targets and maintain workflow.\n\n Requirements:\nMinimum 1-2 years’ experience operating flow wrapping or similar packaging machines in a production environment.\n\nA technical qualification in Engineering (N4 or equivalent) or a related field is advantageous.\n\nMechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting abilities.\n\nGood understanding of quality control, machine setup, and packaging standards.\n\nPhysically fit and able to work on their feet throughout the shift.\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety and hygiene standards.\n\nAbility to document operations accurately and work in a structured, process-driven environment.\n\nContact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.\nSalary: negotiable.\nOur client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.\nApply for this role today, contact Rachel van Dyk at Hire Resolve or on LinkedIn\nYou can also visit the Hire Resolve website: hireresolve.us or email us your CV: \nWe will contact you telephonically in 3 days should you be suitable for this vacancy.
